2005 STI brake squeaking? is this normal
I have a 2005 STI with about 4000 miles on it
and brakes squeak only when im pulling the car backwords and braking (like coming down a driveway) anyone have this problem?

yeah its normal wait to you get a clunking out of the brakes at about 10k thats normal too.

Mine make the noise all the time (sounds real good braking in reverse though)

^^ As above, it's normal with these brakes. Better pads will become worse. I've had no clunking at 20k miles. The squeaking in reverse will be more noticeable since they are adjusting themselves then.

Now they pretty much only squeak in the mornings backing out of the driveway and then they are fine for the rest of the day. I feel kind of bad because I go to work pretty early and I fear that the loud squeaking might be bothering my neighbors. But, I have found that when I give the brake pedal a good squeeze before I start backing out, it sometimes stops them from squeaking at all as I start backing out. |
