Question orange gas light

anyone know how many more miles you can go when the orange gas light comes on?

or how many gallons of gas are left in the tank when it goes on?

I never checked it but I'm sure you can easily find out with a search or,

1) Fill your tank and reset your trip odometer
2) drive until the light comes on
3) immediately fill your tank up
4) subtract how much gas you used from 15.9 (the size of the WRX fuel tank)
5) calculate your MPG and then extrapolate how far you could go with the result you got from step 4.

Cheers, Joe

I don't exactly remember where I found my answer, but I believe it's around 2 gallons. I think it might be in the manual.

It may come on when you are not as low as that. I have had my light come on. So I filled up and I filled up 12 gallons. So I actually had quite a bit more gas in there. But I took a turn fast and the gas sloshed around causing the light to come on.

It isn't black, its blue!

Default but beware!

I have gone as far as 50+ miles with the light on, but I have also run out of gas in less than 30 miles with the light on,

So regardless of how much is actually left in there, my advice would be to fill up ASAP whenever the light comes on.

Default Light Mods

I was wondering if I could change the light from Orange to a Higher Performance Blue? Any idea how many HP this mod would be good for? I imagine with this and clear tail lights, plus removing the Subaru Logo from the trunk, I should be in the 300 hp range.

I managed to drive from a little south of Gilroy to San Jose (I got off at like the 4th exit on the 85), and filled up 14.974 gallons when I finally got to the gas station. Although I wouldn't suggest doing that, I unfortunatley got involved in a conversation and forgot it was on until I had passed through Morgan Hill.
