Post First post in forum. AT to MT swap?

Hello all, I'm pretty new here in general, but I had a question simply outta curiousity. How hard would it be to change an 02 2.5RS from auto to manual transmission? How much would a new tranny cost and what else would need to be converted (ECU, etc?) ? I have always been curious on what changes would need to be made. I currently have an auto RS, but I love stick. I'm sure it'd be much easier to simply trade it in or sell it and get a manual, but this is curiousity speaking. I did a search and didn't find anything. Hope this hasn't been posted before, thanks guys!

Search, search, search. It's a mistake I've made before - we all have, yes, this has been covered.

But, to answer your question, you will need IIRC, AFAIK:

Pedal assembly
Pedal Box
ECU
Shifter, boot, etc
Transmission (duh)
Clutch (pressure plate, clutch disc, [flywheel?])
Master, slave cylinders
MT tranny crossmember, tranny mount
new speedo sensor, MT starter and starter bolts
correct differential w/ final drive
Propshaft

A lot of free time, and a few tools.

It's something I plan on doing w/ a '91 Legacy this winter. It's not easy.

I am running an EJ25 with an STI-RA box on a 1.8 auto ecu. It's possible.
