Default Do you guys have rust?

I'm looking to buy a RUST FREE truck. I am planning on driving down as far as I need to to get one with NO RUST !

How far do I need to go ??? How about Virginia? Do they use salt on the roads? Do you guys still have rust on the bottom of your trucks ?

Also ( what state around that area has the best value for used trucks?)

I am looking for a 3/4 or full ton pickup with enough room for my wife , Son and Dog. I don't really care what kind ! (8 foot bed would be PERFECT)

It can be hit or miss down here. We do still salt the roads, but we get a lot less snow and cold weather than you do. If you're looking for a relatively new vehicle (in the last 5 or 6 years or so) I don't think you'd have much of a problem in VA.

Here in Northern VA we use a salt and sand mixture.

Down here in Richmond 99.9% of what they put on the roads is sand.

Sorry, with that said about the mixture, I have never really seen a lot of rust as a result of salt. I have plowed snow for the state with company trucks for 4-5 years and those trucks do not have crazy amounts of rust. Maybe just a bit of surface but that is expected with age and use.
