Post how to pull diagnostic codes from ecu?

keep getting a check engine light on my 00rs

anyone out there know how to get it into diagnostic mode to get the flashes on the check engine light?

i did a search first and had no luck.

also i went on to mrt's web site and their technical part said connect the green and black plugs under dash together (grn to grn,blk to blk) start car drive 1 minute, and it will flash the pulses.
if it flashes steady half sec. pulses then there is no code stored.

my car only has the grn plugs and every time i try to pull the code it flashes half sec. steady.........
but yet my ck engine light comes on.

any help would be great...
thanks
tony

Not sure if the Subarus have a way for them to "flash" whats wrong.

You may need to find someone with a OBD scan tool and have them pull the codes for you.

Generally speaking, if its a new car, this should be covered by the dealer!

Sounds like a dying O2 sensor to me... in any case, I'd take it back to the dealer!

try http://www.obd-2.com if you want to DIY.

That plug underneath will put it into a diagnostic mode (will retest everything), remember that OBD isn't mandated outside the USA, so I would imagine they use different ECU's with different diagnostics.
