The reason i bought my air suspension kit from BAGRIDERS because:

1.They respond my Pm&email right away

2.They help me explain every single lil thing about air suspension

3.Best Customer service and best prices

Just saying.....

Merry Christmas&Happy New Year's!

just got my air ride installed. using air lift struts...with stockish size wheels (17x8.5 et50 te37s), and its a real real real tight fit. inside lip almost touches the strut. anyone else get this issue? its ridable, but a spacer was recommended. 06 STi

went from coils to air ride, and i dont regret it at all. hopefully pics later.

Hey!

Glad to hear you're liking the struts thus far What do you have your front camber set at, both the camber plate and camber bolt? You might be able to gain some clearance by adding some camber to the plate (as in, additional negative camber) and if you wish to keep your current camber, remove an equal amount from the camber bolt if possible. If you do choose to camber the strut harder, make sure you check clearance of the bag in your strut towers -- I ground off a few unused nuts and hammered the tower walls out a bit to ensure the bag would not rub.

Shoot me a PM or e-mail [email protected] if you have any questions! Our phone lines are currently closed for the holiday, but we'll be back in the office on Thursday the 27th. Until then, I'll be checking my PM's and e-mails occasionally while I'm on vacation

Happy Holidays!
John

Yeah you have a high offset, I would put a 2-5 mm spacer in there to get yourself a little clearance.

thanks.

but doesnt that seem sort of...well stupid? if the current rims barely clear, the stock rims would be even closer. so a bagged 06 cant use stock rims without spacers? that just seems so weird to me...

i doubt my installer messed anything up but is that a possibility? is anyone else on stockers on a GD chassis with airlift? it snowed today, i almsot crashed the car on summers, so i really have to figure this out.

RYAN YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!! Awesome work man I absolutely cannot WAIT to see this done!!! You're making beast progress, and your work is absolutely awesome ESPECIALLY considering this is your first time doing body work if I heard correctly? Either way, you win the wideness award Can't wait to see the finished product!!

Glad to be taking care of you Abbitt, can't wait to see the results of your new project, I'm sure it will be as legendary as your previous builds!

We're still getting hit hard with snow here in VT... I tried to run outside and snap a few shots in our parking lot before it got too dark out, but I didn't succeed all that well :P

Someone left the door open... whoops!

Kevin's car is buried...

Hmm... 17" wheel... based on the position of the snow pile on the face... looks to be about 10" of accumulation!!

My drive height during the winter

I'm off to go get some highly anticipated winter drifting out of my system!! Happy Holidays everyone!

Holy **** John, if it snowed that much down here there would literally be a state of emergency declared. Holy hell!

And yeah, this is my first time doing body work. It's gonna be far from perfect, but it's a lot of fun doing something this intensive and wild. haha

Anyone have experience with the KSport kits? My gut is telling me that they are probably not the greatest but I'm pretty uneducated on air kits. I thought I read that Sato-Unit was running one on his Bug Eye. Maybe he can chime in?

Oh man that's nothin! It kept snowing for a while after that photo was snapped... definitely made for some fun parking lot drifting sessions Kevin and I took our Subies out for a while later that night.

I would never have guessed it was your first time doing body work judging by those pictures, again, hats off to you man! If you're gonna be at SoWo again this year, myself and hopefully a few other guys that work here will be cruising down rather than flying down like Rali and I did last year. Can't wait to see the end result, it's gonna be legendary!

I believe Sato_Unit was on D2 Air Struts on his bug eye; I was on D2 struts as well before prototyping and switching over to the then-new Air Lift Performance struts. D2 and K-Sport air struts bear striking similarities, honestly it wouldn't surprise me if the two struts are the exact same minus coloring and brand stickers

Here is what I can say about my experience with D2 struts compared to the Air Lift Performance struts I'm riding on now:
  • The D2 struts felt much more bouncy compared to Air Lift Performance struts
  • The dampers on the D2 struts didn't really seem to do all that much. Adjusting dampening on the Air Lift Performance struts is very noticable!
  • The D2 struts were actually more expensive than Air Lift Performance struts, especially if you were to buy them without their Air Management (which I would strongly recommend avoiding)
  • The D2 struts came from Taiwan (as would K-Sports) and thus took a while to arrive here. Furthermore, in the event of a blown bag or shock, I can only imagine the RMA process would be a nightmare and shipping costs would be significant.
  • The actual bag used on D2 and K-Sport front struts has a very large bottom bracket. So large in fact, that it prevented me from going as low as I wanted to go with 18x9.5 et38 wheels. The Air Lift Performance struts do not have such a large bottom plate, and therefore I could thread the struts shorter and achieve the higher spring rate I desired, as well as a lower stance while aired out.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions

Cheers,
John

Yeah my look on them. Since D2 sponsored both of my old cars. Mike at D2 is an awesome dude for one. Always was down to help me if i needed any sort of part. My air ride came in a week. They air shipped it so that was awesome.

Since they usually dont do camber plates with their air, i ran my BC plates and needed an adapter which D2 provided asap.

All in all its a nice strut for normal air ride, Drove and rode good. I liked them for what i did with them. I have never ridden in airlift or anything else so i cant compare the two really.

Thanks for the info Sato. I noticed that there was no mention of camber plates by D2 or KSport. Good to know. I'm going to sell my Buddy Club coilovers to recoupe some funds so I would rather not break them down for the plates. Thanks again guys.

The D2 air strut system is good, my buddy bought Sato_unit's old bugeye so i've seen it first hand. However he has had a few problems with the air lines blowing off alot

Just bought BC Coilovers... but looking at this thread, I thinking about possibly selling them before I even install.

Can someone who has a bagged 08+ STI PM me some info about price, install, etc? Would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
