:-| my old car for sale.... they have completely ruined it.. every single thing they are describing about the car is incorrect... His description below: Hi I have a 2002 Wrx awd turbo five speed manual. This car has 120k on body 8-10k on built motor and trans. This car is very fast and clean has sti front seats. This car is lowered an inch and rides great does awesome in snow rain and ice. The car has fuel pump injectors cams heads agp head studs vf46 ported turbo turbo inlet TB Cobb ap built trans !! 3" down pipe 3 1/2" hks exhaust boost controller turbo timer intake hks bov big front mount with hard pipe and soo much more trade for rx8, is300, 93^ rx7, srt4, srt 4, gto, trans am, Camaro ss, cts, lifted truck, turbo, supercharged. 417-818-2952 What it really has...Details on the motor - Engine installed at 111,xxx EJ20 bored .020" over Stock Rods Stock Crank Manley Pistons 92.5mm which result in 8.5:1 compression when using OEM dished valves Crower SS Valves with Flat Faces were used which will bump the compression up to 8.7:1 Crower Valve Springs and Retainers ACL Race Bearing on the rods and mains all gaskets were purchased new from subaru head bolts were purchased new from subaru ported cylinder heads gates racing timing belt kit gates waterpump gates alt belt. Transmission: Rally Spec transmission with treated gears installed at 50k engine addons/Other: exedy clutch ported an polished tgv deletes with motors so no CEL sti pink injectors vf34 turbo inspected during engine build looks GREAT!!! hallman MBC purple (boost controller) aluminum racing radiator 4 gallon turbo xs fmic kit head wrapped around turbo. hks bov/bpv adaptor included turbo xs turboback bell mouth full exhaust new battery installed with new engine polished alternator polished intake manifold fresh valve covers beautiful purple/blue with tons of metal flake no name up-pipe heat wrapped exhaust manifold stock with new gaskets heat wrapped no name silicone turbo inlet turbo xs shortie intake with maf turbo xs turbo timer new o2 wideband sensor brand new headlights with HIDS installed 10.23.11 rota 17x8 tarmac II's -------------------------------------------- I sold the car with a few miles driven on the new build. Due to recent job loss I had to part ways after spending a few grand getting it up and running ready for a new turbo setup. I explained to the new buyer of the car to BRAKE IN the engine and drive it right for the first few thousand miles at low boost. The boost was set at 7lbs for breakin when I sold it, I told him to leave it at that until it was done being broke in... He did not. 200 miles or so into the break in period he (the new owner) managed to melt the BLUE GATES TIMING BELT off of the car and turn it black causing head damage... he then took it to a local mechanic who managed to put the cam caps on incorrectly. A few days after the 17 yo high school kid ran the piss out of the freshly built engine...his father called me threatening to sue due to their ignorance... A few weeks later I called the shop that the kid dropped the car off at and they told me that he attempted to have it tuned with a cobb access-port tuner... when the car originally had an open source tune on it that should have stayed for a few thousand miles to allow the engine to break in but apparently they did not care to listen. The mechanic also told me that due to the kid not breaking the engine in properly he had to replace a cylinder head due to improper break-in... so the current engine may have miss matching cylinder heads... one being built and ported and the other being a stock head. This car has seen 3 owners sense I last owned it.. Last edited by white guys wrx; 02-02-2013 at 12:04 AM. |

I know that breaking in engines is a touchy subject. I do highly agree to you that he did something other then drive it right... He did not even change the oil the 3 or 4 times every few hundred miles to get out any old scrap metal ... I do know when I break my engines in I take it easy for the first few hundred miles an then after a few thousand increase RPMS to ensure that the cylinder walls seal well with the rings but in this case I believe he just ramped the boost back up and slapped a stage 2 or 3 cobb stock tune on it an was ripping it every chance he got... After I sold it he sold it a few months later then 2 other owners bought it after that... so there is no telling what the 3 kids did that bought it after me its sad really... vf46?? really? ... "The car has fuel pump injectors cams heads agp head studs vf46 ported turbo turbo inlet TB Cobb ap built trans !! 3" down pipe 3 1/2" hks exhaust boost controller turbo timer intake hks bov big front mount with hard pipe and soo much more" :-| Last edited by white guys wrx; 02-02-2013 at 01:29 PM. |
