Default Fixed the CEL

I just got the TC2 chip and my CEL didn't come on at all. I pushed the car pretty hard at times and no CEL. whereas before I'd get the cel in no time

The car pulls a lot smoother, especially in the 4k rpm range. I'm lovin it.

Default TC2

You can get them from Suby Sports http://www.subysports.com/ for $250. I think Larry from imprezaRS.com may also have them, but that may be a rumor. I'd check with him at [email protected]. It's fairly easy to install and takes about 1/2 an hour. I actually had Suby sports install it for me and they were great.

Oh and I believe it's supposed to get rid of the speed limiter, but I could only get up to 115 today (the point where it used to kick in;didn't this time), but slowed down cause my shocks are pretty badly worn out and didn't really want to risk it with the wind blowing as hard as it was from the side.

Default TC2???s

1. Will it work on a 1999 Legacy GT with an automatic transmission?

3. If so who has it for the cheapest $$$?

2. If it's a "Torque Chip 2", why do you feel a difference over 4000 rpm and not under 4000 rpm??? They should call it a Horsepower Chip:monkey: ...right !!!

3. Got any pics?

4. How many wires?

5. Where do you(we) mount the chip?

6. What tools would you(we) need?

7. Any precautions to the installation?

CRAZY KEN...who is always looking for more torque!!!

I'd like to find out more about this chip. Where can I get details? Will it help performance on a 2001 outback 5 speed?

Talking Smooooth

The TC2 finally got rid of my CEL that I've been dealing with for months. I pushed the car into the high 5k rpm range and still nothing (CEL wise). The chip makes the car pull a lot smoother in the whole range and gets really going after 4k although you can notice some difference in the 2.5k and later range. It might be that the chip helps more with the intake around 4k, but the difference is definitelly noticeable the 1st day. All I now need is the lightwight pulleys and lighter flywheel and I'm set to go... well along with new suspension, but that's another story.

Default installation

I'd definitelly go with someone with expreience since i wouldn't want to deal with soldering it, although I've put chips into Playstations before. I'm dealing with my car here. It's not hard, but I wouldn't want to mess it up.

Sorry no pics. It took about 1/2 an hour to install. you have to take the carpet out of the passenger side floor (by the glovebox) and follow directions. It seemed easy enough, but I wouldn't do this by myself without first seeing it. There's just something about electronics that when I don't know too much abouta certain part, it scares me to play around with it. Computers are another story.

I would nonetheless recommend this to anyone looking for a few extra ponies and would like to see their car run smoother. I'll have to keep you posted on the developments, though.
