It'll actually be behind the whole glovebox assembly, not just the glovebox. There are 8-10 bolts holding it in (including the one on the side of the dashboard) that you need to remove. Once you do that, you'll see a white box with a cover over it. Pretty easy to get to once the glovebox assembly is out.

i drove my 04 for 45k miles before finding out i didnt even have one inside
so all the dirt, leaves, crap, etc pretty much just blew through the vents to my lungs and inside the car. |

I just replaced mine at 92k. To be honest I had forgotten I was there until reading this thread last week. It was friggin nasty. I used the Purolator "Breathe Easy" # C38188 as mentioned earlier. It did have to be trimmed to fit but worked great.

I picked up a Purolator "Breathe Easy" C38188 yesterday as well. Over the weekend I'll see how it fits in my early 02!!

does the 04 wrx wagon have a cab filter? i been in that area but i didnt see a filter can i put one in?
