SWIC Gun Thread
Since I spend half my time in California and Half here in AZ. I can only keep the good stuff here in Arizona. California you can have anything fun anymore. I dont know why people move there. You cant have a nice car, guns, and what not, The whole state has gone to the girls....lol
So.. What does everyone have? I have some AR-15's, ruger and a Glock Where is good gun store? Better ranges then Ben Avery? Anyone want to go shooting tomorrow afternoon? (sunday 1/10/10)

I've got a sig229 and a few 22 rifles, nothing special. I love shooting, but it gets expensive. I usually shoot at caswells, would love to go tomorrow, but the inlaws are here til tuesday

My favorite gun store is Randalls Firearms at 51st ave and Olive. Small store but they are very friendly and usually have good prices, sometimes outstanding prices.
Also AZFirearms out by my house, Dysart and Western (just north of Buckeye). Prices are usually okay but he has some really cool stuff. A 20mm rifles, a Bazooka, several machine guns and old and off the wall stuff. Ben Avery is my favorite range because it has a 200 yard range and its cheap. If you get into a club they do have everything from 25 yards to 1000 yards, a nice trap range and a bow range. Scottsdale gun club is really nice indoor short range facility but its pricey. |

Up here in prescott I go through my old man for everything. He has a small store called Mikes Gun Shop.
i have a taurus 845, as well as a judge (my favorite gun) (im cheap i know... but the h&k .45 was a bit out of my league.) if i carry its usually only a pee shooter on my ankle (beretta .25) its hard to conceal when your a chubbs... as far as shooting, if you can handle the cult like following, nothing beats gunsite. |

Love the Mauser,sp101 and the Mk2 Ruger, Cgrunt. Shot a old Mauser 6.5x55 years ago and all I remember was the steel buttplate was talking to my shoulder.
By the way has anyone here used mercury to clean the bores on their guns ? A customer who shoots a lot gave me a capsule with some mercury,he says it gets all the lead out of bores. |

You might want to check out Arizona Shooting (http://www.arizonashooting.com/v3/index.php)
You have to post a fair amount before you are allowed into the classifieds (if you are interested in buying/selling/trading). I have seen a few people from here on there. |

there is probably a few things some people can add... but basically if your over 21 you can purchase a handgun, of course if your background is clean and no problems. doesnt need to be registered or anything, and if your gonna carry it on you without your CCW permit, it needs to be visible by 5 inches at least. can not have a round in the chamber, but can have a clip in the handfun ready to go (as long as its not kocked back and ready to go) other than that thats the basics, theres alot more to it im sure others can enlighten on... |

takes about 20 minutes. fill out a form. quick phone call to check for priors, etc. if you have a ccw they waive the phone call. open carry without a permit except in schools, on gov property, or anywhere there's a sign. no registration.

Ive never heard of the empty chamber thing. When I carried my 1911 it was always cocked and locked. Whats the use of carrying a gun with an empty chamber?
