We have no info other than the photo and what little detail The GM Source provides on its site, which sadly doesn't include any tech specs. The '09 Vibe will be officially unveiled at the LA Auto Show, and the GT will be joined by an AWD model as well. The Vibe's mechanical sibling, the Toyota Matrix, will debut at SEMA later this month. We'll update the Vibe info as more information comes to light. Until then, tell us your thoughts on the redesign in the comments.

TheGMSource - The Pontiac division gets a sporty GT model back and the 2009 Pontiac Vibe debuts in LA at the 2007 Los Angelas Auto Show. We've gotten our hands on the first official look at the returning GT spec Vibe.

Jump through for the official look.

All-new, but still retaining the original's blend of style, performance and versatility, the 2009 Pontiac Vibe also signals the return of the popular all-wheel drive and performance-oriented GT models (shown here). The 2009 Vibe will make its public debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show and will be available at Pontiac dealerships in early 2008.

Um... I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person, but that front end is not looking to good.

I wonder what engine they will have in it, or whether it will remain on a Toyo platform? If so, could they be going to the Camry 2.4L 4 cyl for some added oomph?

I'd rather the high-revving 180hp 1.8 than the tepid 2.4 camry lump.

Tuesdays are a bad day 4 me,long work day.

Anyway looks alot like the old one but then again I do not pay much attention to it.

These cars are made on the old line were the Chevy Prizm and Toyota Corolla use to be made at.There was alot of hoopla when the Vibe and Matrix came out,how Pontiac designed theres and Toyota did there own.I wonder if it lived up to its expectation(Vibe) in sales for Pontiac.Toyota stopped the Matrix.

I'm disappointed to hear that they are still separating the AWD model from the "performance" model. (i.e. you can get AWD w/ the small motor/automatic tranny OR a FWD with a fun motor/manual)

Thats because they believe that AWD adds too much weight. I guess the auto industry still believes that AWD and performance share a symbiotic relationship but in this case, its detrimental to the performance component... at least when it comes to straight-line performance.

This is the Pontiacified Blade/Auris/Corolla hatch, yeah?

Yar-boo sucks on the "fun" variant not getting AWD.

I actually like it. I always thought the original Matrix had a great combination of utility and economy in a small package. Looks like this one will continue that trend.

My thoughts exactly. It looks like the new Sentra. I hope the Matrix looks a little better.

Nope not much. Owned by a quick scan.

From a performance standpoint, it would be better if they found a GM platform for it and dropped in the 260 HP SIDI turbo out of the kappas and gave it AWD.

They already have that...

Except for the AWD (which I am pretty sure the HHR does not have)

Of all the mini-wagon (whatever you wanna call them) including GM's own HHR, and the PT-Cruiser and Caliber and a few others, I think this new Matrix is definitely one of the better looking ones, by far actually.

i hope they do start using the 2.4 motor, trying to move a car as big as that with the torque from the 1.8 could be a little painful
