the car does not come with a "BOV" from the factory for a reason

Buy something usefull first like a drop in air filter, and a pack of jawbreakers.

The factory bypass valve about the best route...no need to upgrade. No performance gains are to be had doing so...just sound only. The stock valve will handle anything the stock VF39 is capable of and then some...

LMAO

The stock one is a good one. But HKS and Greddy have really good sounds from what i have heard. I have heard of people complaining about leaks with the txs one. You might want to look into a worx one. Thats a favorite aroundh ere because you can set the setting of how much it reicrcs or vents in the atmosphere. Do asearch on them. i can't find the site to it right now even though I swear I bookmarked it.

I have a worx tuning dual stage BOV and it works very well. The cool part about it is that you can set it (5 way adjustable) to how much air you want to vent into the atmosphere and back into the system. The sound is like a truck's air breaks venting suddenly... WOOOSH... no whistle sound. I admit the greddy type S and HKS sound is cooler... but the Worx is a safe bet, with a very distinctive sound.

it was the first mod I did, and while I do recognise that it's kind of a waste... it's cool... always wanted a turbo car and to have a BOV... now I do.

good luck with whatever you decide

seriously consider keeping the stock there is no performance gain and the stock subaru BOV does not have the leak proublems like the DSMs until 22psi er so

#2 your not going to get much more boost out of a vf39 any way

If you really must indulge your ears with a phoosh, the single best aftermarket BOV in terms of function is the APS. Read their writeup on http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wrx/blow.htm to see why.
