Default WRX question

Alright now say I bought a used 04 or 05 WRX and wanted some basic but responsive mods, leaving none of the must have stuff out but not going overboard in price, FORRR example... Buschar has a Stage kit for the EVO I believe it includes full exhaust, flash, intake, bov etc... Could someone make me a list of some must have mods that will make good power out of the WRX on a stock turbo, clutch etc and what kind of WHP should I expect out of it as well as cost.

Catless or highflow catted downpipe
Catless uppipe
Cat-back exhaust
IC y-pipe
Engine management

210-220 whp with proper tune

Then add wheels, tires, springs, and swaybars to make it handle the power.

Pricing on those mods? and what kind of track times could one expect out of that power? low 13's? mid 13's? It would be a 2.0 WRX, engine management as in Utec? isnt that like a grand? I'd go with coilovers not springs and some black rims, I love how exhaust sounds on WRX's and STi's but I wonder if I'd be happy with the car or just end up wishing I had gotten an STi, I hear WRX transmissions and clutches are like glass too, worse than any EVO...

1/4 times it all depends on the driver, but more than likely you should be looking at mid 13's with what most call the stage II (described above). The trans should be o.k. with a stage II unless you totally trash it.

What does the S2 cost for this car? I know if launched these cars are low 14's stock however I wonder if that is if you left your tranny behind you on the ground. I have seen SRT-4 vids or even a S2 SRT-4 totally stomping a S2 WRX, well of course SRT-4s bone stock run STi's and EVOs in stock form from a roll.

At S2 level, if you don't just drop the clutch the tranny will be fine. Yes you can get the same low 14s out of the car, you do not have to do a transmission smashing launch. Just slip it fast and it will be fine.

Well it all depends if you buy used or new, and also what brand you buy for example helix is cheaper than most, but it's still good product and works just as well any other name brand. You also need to consider if you are going to do the work yourself or pay somebody to do it for you.

When I had my 05 WRX I spent about 1750 for parts (turbo Xs) and engine management (ECUTEK) by pdxtuning.

Ok so your saying all said and done Cobb S2 is about $1700-$2000? Its said that with no transmission smashing launch and a nice slip out of 1st and I'd be good to go however low 14's even with the Cobb S2 is kinda ewwy, that's not very quick and it would intrigue me more to just shell out the extra cash for an EVO or something. I was considering the WRX as a nice practical alternative but in the same sense I wan't to be able to hands down hand ass to stock WRX's... however reliability is in question as well, if the WRX under aggressive driving is going to give out in the drive train department then eh... I am not going to be a fool with the car, drive it aggressive however no clutch drops. I'd love an SRT-4 but for the HP I'd intend on making with that car and how cheap it is to make gobs of it, winter drivability goes out the window and I don't want two cars. So it's EVO, STi or WRX... I'd pay no more than $22,000 for a used EVO or STi and I'd be very careful buying used or I could hope I'm happy with a light mod WRX for less with less miles hoping its going to last me.
