Default What's the difference between stock WRX and STI exhaust?

Is the piping diameter any different? How about the internals of the muffler? Will the STI exhaust sound any different then the WRX one?

Thanks

stock WRX is 2.25" and STi is 2.5", The STi doesn't have a cat in the up-pipe. I don't know how they differ internally, but the STi muffler is physically smaller on the outside, and yes, it will provide a more aggressive sound on a WRX. Many people who are looking for a slightly more aggressive sound go with the STi, because they find that most aftermarket companies are too loud for their tastes.

I think WRX is 2.5" and STi is 3", as IIRC, Prodrive advertises their exhaust at stock size.

no, unless they offer a 2.5" exhaust.

WRX is 2.25. I have a prodrive and it's slightly bigger than the stock tubing.
