Not Reaching Target Boost! (02 wrx GM stg 2) **Logs attached
The only mod out of the norm I have is a p&p turbo. The rest of the mods are the usual filter, up, down, snorkle delete, ect...
I was boosting around 14~15 with the stock solenoid and a xpt stg2 map. The solonoid died (max boost @ 7 psi), so I upgrated to the Gm solenoid and map. I am reaching a max boost of around 11.4 consistently. At one point last week, boost would peak at around 14 then flutter down to the 11... max. This only happened a during that drive. I replaced the lines going to and from the solenoid and still the same result. Does the wastegate duty cycle needs to adjusted (b/c of p&p turbo), or do I have a boost leak? If it is a boost leak, where is it most likely to be occurring? **Logs attached ** I know the throttle open isn't 100% but believe me it should be boosting higher and even at 100% it does not boost higher!

You have a lot of FLKC - which I assume is the reason why your IAM is 15 and not 16. I'd sort out the fine learning knock first.
Also your log doesn't help much when trying to work out boost problems. This is mainly because your throttle position is always under 80% - not many cars will reach targets when they only use 80% throttle and stop logging at 4000rpm To help us help you with both the FLKC and boost problems - do the following: 1. Download the learningview tool HERE, connect your tactrix cable, open the learningview tool, click "connect", then "update" and then "save". 2. Then do a 3rd gear 2000-4000rpm WOT log using RomRaider Logger and ONLY log: AFR (preferably WB02 if you got it) Engine Load Direct Engine Speed Feedback Knock Correction Fine Learning Knock Correction Mainfold Relative Pressure Corrected Mass Airflow (g/s) Throttle WGDC Target Boost 3. close RomRaider Logger, open the learningview tool again, click "connect", then "update" and then "save". 4. Post a link to the csv files here or on the RomRaider forums for feedback. All the other things you are logging just slow things down and limit the amount of useful data being logged. The above parameters are all you need to get the information required for others to help properly Last edited by wrxsti.l; 10-08-2008 at 10:23 AM. |

ok... Ill get to that in the next few days. My only question is why is it FLKC when there is no knock detected?

Could the comp be pulling FLKC because it is hot outside. Im in Fl rihgt now and its like at least 80 - 85 consistently around here.

its possible - but thats a lot of knock... I would pull the timing in the base table. What timing function are you logging? advance? who tuned the car originally?

also, what did you pull apart to put the turbo in? uppipe, manifold? Feel around the uppipe/manifold for an exhaust leak while the car is running... might want to try pressurizing the intake tract as well...

I didnt touch the uppipe or manifold, just removed the dp and intercooler. The car was running fine with the new turbo for almost a year until the stock solenoid failed.

Are you sure the GMBCS is installed correctly?
