Subaru VIP Program 2008 models
I e-mail IMBA membership services to inquire if the 2008 STI will be included in the VIP program. Here is the response I was given:
"Hi Neal, All new Subarus are included in the VIP program. As long as they have never been sold before, you are good to go. Give me a call when you would like to get signed up for the program. Also, I am including an informational email here, just FYI. Thanks for your support, Stefan Stefan Richarz IMBA Membership Services PO Box 711, Boulder CO, 80306 303-545-9011 x118 [email protected]" So it looks like the 2008 STI should be good to go... sadly this is not the case Confirmed from SOA no 2008 STI in VIP.

Stefan is wrong. It clearly says STI limiteds are not included on the VIP forms. So not all Subarus are included. I was told by a SOA guy that it should be on the VIP list but they dont know yet.

There is no STI limited in 2008, so that does not count.
As I remember, once you get the VIP letter from Subaru, it is only good for X days. How does the VIP program work with pre-order, when the delivery day is still uncertain? |

As for the time. Its good for 45 days. Dont contact your VIP provider until your car is on the water. Your dealer can give you updates to let you know when it will be here. A day or two after SOA gets your order from the dealer, the will send the dealer a fax confirmation with an estimated date. This date will change a couple of times, but it is pretty close. |

Just joined. If this STI doesn't pan out, I'm looking forward to an @ invoice (or lower) Spec-B.

I ordered my 2005, so it took about 6 weeks to arrive from Japan. I just called the VIP guys when it arrived and they faxed the dealership. I believe it was good for 30 days once they fax the dealership.

Got VIP too - basically invoice price and no haggle.
The held back the 04 initially, but after that, it was game on. |

Not exactly. Some are VIP @ invoice. Some are exectutive VIP @ 2% under invoice. Not all VIPs are the same. IMBA is 2% under while Chase Bank employees are at invoice.
http://www.subaru.com/outdoorlife/partners.jsp here is an incomplete list of the VIP partners. Oh and I forgot, you have to be a member of most of these clubs for atleast 6 months before you are a VIP |

In the lower 48, it's $33,010 + $645 = $33,655.
Below is a list of Subaru marketing affiliates whose members, six months after enrolling, can purchase new Subarus at 2% below dealer invoice: American Association for the Advancement of Science American Association of Snowboard Instructors American Canoe Association American Cross Country Skiers American Meteorological Society American Speech-Language-Hearing Association American Veterinary Medical Association Colorado Tennis Association Crescent Ski Council (members of 22 ski clubs eligible) Geological Society of America International Mountain Bicycling Association Leave No Trace Mount Washington Observatory National Brotherhood of Skiers National Ski Patrol Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Professional Ski Instructors of America Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association Women's Quest Make sure to inquire, before joining, whether the Subaru VIP Partners pricing membership benefit is still available. Here are details about how the program works: Quote:

when i bought my 2006 sti i got it for 200 below invoice, but this program is good as it says any dealer incentives further reduce the cost..........i dont imagine much discounts on the sti but wrx and 2.5i models, as well as the legacy and others would benefit i imagine alot from this program........
i imagine a base 2.5i model with this program could be driven off the lot for less than 17,000.......gives me chills, as i paid 20,000 for my first subaru, a 2001 2.5rs. -mikey |
