this should be stickied... it has told me more about what I can do to my car performance-wise than any other thread I've seen.

here is the info i got from the dyno for those of you that think u might wanna still be n/a! If you could add this to your main post i'm sure some people would love to look at it.

first off my car info
2005 2.5RS Manual transmission
Injen intake
2.5" Techworks Header
2.5" Techworks cat delete pipe
2.5" Techworks mid-pipe resonated
2.5" Techworks custom glass packed/resonated muffler
Perfect Power 6 self tuned

Picture of my dyno graph.

Explanation of my dyno graph. ignore the dotted lines that was the map rallitek gave me off the shelf! and well it sucked. The other solid line is my own self tuned map. As you can see i have a pretty much straight line on my torque curve it started much earlier than 2500 rpm whihc means no lag and power everywhere! Also if you took notice my torque curve stayed steady at 6200(rev limiter) and the hp was still gaining! If i could flash the redline higher i'd definitely make more power.
As it stands now i have a Naturally aspirated vehicle putting out the power of a stock WRX with a WAY better torque curve as i have no turbo lag/spool to worry about.
Now one other BIG thing to note is that with this setup i get UNBELIEVABLE milage. on a full tank I get about 700-800kms not sure exactly what that translates to in miles but i believe its about 500-550 miles per tank! this is even under VERY spirited driving.

So anyone wanting to go with a n/a build these are the pros:
awesome power band, power everywhere.
milage is bar-none better than any turbo subaru out there.
definitely a reliable safe build.

cons:
well you all know it n/a will never make as much power as a turbo car in the long run.

I'll keep you all posted next year wheni get more done to the car intake short/long block.

Hope this info helped!

Good info, nice numbers, couple ??'s

Do you have any other dynos such as: stock baseline, exhaust only or PP6 only depending on the order of mods. I know it's a bitch/expense getting those done, just had to ask.

were you able to tune in closed loop with the PP6? just curious how you got such a flat TQ curve from 2,500 to the top, I would have expected a bump around 4,500 when the PP6 would start working.

Sounds like your happy with the results, thanks for the confirmation it can be done reasonably. This is just what I'm looking for, a bit more power mostly under the curve, for a stronger pulling DD car. Don't need a swap, not looking to smoke WRX's, just want a little more useable power.

Good luck with the car

With what you have, plus a set of aggressive cams you'll be close to a 2.0 WRX in power output, but even then you won't be any faster. Unless you have some other magic in the mix that you didn't list. My guess is that on that same dyno and operator combination you see at least 20hp+ peak hp from a WRX, and I think I'm being conservative with that assessment.

There are too many people already that think an exhaust, intake and tuning will yield WRX power. Stop the madness!

Why does that matter? Well, your torque curve looks really, really flat, but that's partly because the scale of the y-axis is stupid. If you took that same graph and put it on a proper set of axes (say, up to 175hp and 175ft-lb) the torque curve would look like everyone else's. Looking at the numbers at the bottom of the page, your mininum torque was 137ft-lb @ ~2500rpm, and peak torque was 154ft-lb, a spread of 17ft-lb. On my dyno graph the difference between torque at 2500rpm and the peak torque is about 19ft-lb - essentially the same.

Those are pretty impressive numbers, particularly for a car without cams or headwork. Your numbers are basically the same as the numbers my car put down on a Dynojet, and Dynojets generally read higher than Mustangs.

tuned it in open loop only i believe that is 3000 rpm+ at least that's what sean@rallitek told me. CAn't wait to run the accessport like subiesport and raise that red lin.

Ok, your numbers are rubbish. There is no way you are making 160whp with I/H/E and some tuning. Especially if you state that a stock STi on the dyno you are using is only making 226 stock which is very low reading (perhaps if you had a high-reading dyno, but that does not matter). Basically a stock 2.5RS in the best of worlds is making 110-120whp. You aren't making 40-50whp with those mods. No way. You WILL need cams, higher compression pistons and headwork at the minimum.

Raising the redline on your car will make zero difference. These cars fall flat after 6000 rpm. If you want to rev you need more cam and more headwork.

I call shenanigans on your dyno plots. Either you setup the dyno to give you the numbers you wanted to see OR you are just not being square.

i'm not being rubbish and i didn't setup the dyno. this was run on a dyno day organized in my area. PDX Tuning drove my car on the dyno with the dyno peopel running the machine. They even logged my car with their programs to make sure it was running smooth and ic an have about 30 people including pdx vouch these are not 'make believe' numbers. PDX said with even more minor adjustments i could probably squeak out a bit more but due to the lack of a knock sensor and good wideband i don't dare touch it anymore.

if your not convinced feel free to hop over to the canada forums and read about it there.

PDXTuning does not have a mustang dyno. They haven't used one in about a year. Were you out in Bend?
And you say above that you tuned the car and make no mention of PDX. I can garuntee that the boys at PDX would not tell you that you are making 160whp with a non-built 2.5RS, you cannot make the power you claim with the mods you have.
Refer to the begining of this post and those are the minimum mods you need to get anywhere near the power you say you have. I/H/E will not make 50whp, even with tuning, bottom line, period.

lik ei said i had a dyno day up in my area which means we flew pdx in. the only thing pdx did was drive my car while it was on the dyno and pull logs with it to see if i was getting any knock etc etc.

give jarrad or owen a call and ask about vincent from nasioc canada forums and they'll tell you exactly what i said is correct and that this is not an altered dyno sheet.

Well, he did - with PDX tuning, bottom line, period.

FYI - the dyno is in Edmonton, Canada. Vincent-h organized a big Subaru dyno meet and protune for everyone in our area, and flew the guys from PDX in to Edmonton. I do not know vincent-h, but I do not doubt his numbers.

Seriously, you can see the dyno plots and pics of it all in the Canada Forum.

how did they pull logs? There is no delta dash for the 2.5RS, nor does PDX tune the perfect power. And if you dont have a knock sensor how did you look for knock? I would really leave PDX out of this as they didn't tune your car. All they did is look at AFRs and say "looks good." What was the baseline your car did. Without that your horespower number means nothing. Once again, stock RS is about 110whp. You are claiming 160whp. Are you then saying that I/H/E makes 50whp?

yeah, and that is reading a bit low too by about 10whp. Most STis dyno at about 250-260. So to have a low reading dyno and then read the factory BHP at the wheels isn't right.
