Default A Prediction

Folks, most of you know what I do for a living. For those who don't, I'm a local Critical Care Flight Paramedic.

In the past 3 shifts, within the state of Alaska, our teams have transported some very sick folks. Mainly young ones.

I am not trying to be alarmist or scare anyone. Just be aware that the flu is serious business. If you are feeling under the weather, don't go to work, don't go out, stay home, get rest and take care of yourself. Trust me.

I predict a terrible flu season. The likes of which most of us have never seen.

and for GOD's sakes, wash your hands.

PLEASE.

signed,

Your friend

The Nomad.

Wash your hands, have a bottle of instant hand sanitizer available, avoid touching your face directly with your hands. The slope makes you afraid of catching the types of crud that's up there from habitual slobs. Walking pneumonia makes you have a pretty cool voice.

It's already going through my family, so I'm going to have to agree with Nomad and all of the above advice.

I've been in health care on the front lines for 23 years, the last 11 in the flight arena. I don't scare easily or quickly. One of the individuals went from fine to first signs of symptoms to expired within 24 hours. After what I saw last night.....I'm scared.

trust me, you should be too.

educate yourselves on the subject.

For what it is worth; our local Native population are the "canaries in the coal mine" for the rest of the WORLD'S population.

Best of luck with that, if you choose otherwise!
