Default What is your favorite part of your daily drive?

Mine is getting on to 83 from podonia road. It has construction and it goes from 3 lanes to one lane twice right after stop lights. since it in construction its always wet and muddy. Nothing has a chance next to a 300hp AWD STI! most times i just sit back and watch the rat race. I would say that 3 out of 4 cars spin trying to get in front of each other on a wet day. There is a much better view from behind the action and i know that none of them could hang with me any ways. But every once and a while ill get on it threw first just to get in front.

The part where I walk out the door of my building and walk right past my car.

I love living so close to work.

Merging on to 95 to go into work... always great By that time, the engine and tranny have had time to warm up, so a quick merge on to 95 wakes me up nicely!

28 North exit off 66 that slings me into a usually awesome right hand turn onto Walney with some of the biggest eyeballs from the people waiting to turn left. Then I hall ass up walney (through the woods past elenore C lawrence park... its like a car commercial) my favorite part of that road is a left turn that has a drop and a reverse banked pitch. It makes the bottom of my stomach come up!

Umm... I've been sitting here trying to think of something to type for around 5 minutes. I can't really think of a favorite part of my commute. Its pretty plain vanilla.

I liked my daily drive better when it was just a daily walk.

This living 4 miles from work thing sucks. I want to go back to living around the block from work. 10 minute walk > 12 minute drive (tons of lights and school traffic).

Return trip is better.
28th street on ramp to 83 north is nice.
Sections of Middletown road by Pretty Boy School is nice, right after it heading north.
Some sections right across the border into PA heading into the intersection at Styx.
The roundabout in Jefferson, PA

In the winter with snow, I will find a longer more backroad way of getting to 28th street exit from Dover, PA. Should be fun since there is little traffic now at 6am so I expect far less in good snow.

my favorite part of my commute:

wake up, remote start my car, do the morning routine and in 15 minutes get to work.

15 minutes from the time i wake up that is. it takes 3 minutes to drive. 10 minutes to walk.

man, i couldnt live without that extra 7 minutes of sleep....

My favorite part is when I pull into my driveway at the end of the day.
Other than that it sucks.

Exiting the Toll road and making the left onto the Loudon County Parkway. Mostly clear sailing all the way home from there (@ 27 miles). Twisty backroads, some gravel, one stinkin' stoplight at Gilbert's corner (if I choose to go that way).

My favorite part is when I first get onto Rte. 5 and have about 5 miles of wide open road to release the days tension.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I enjoy my favorite part of the commute. While everybody is stuck in stop and go traffic on the inner loop of 695 between Reisterstown Road and 83, I jump off and take a nice curvy country road that parallels the Beltway. I jump back on at Falls Road and its smooth flying by then.

I foreclose on houses for a living, sort of like a repo man for houses. So my favorite part of my daily drive is when I am leaving the hood.

east of Laytonsville it's always nice. Especially on a beautiful morning like today; the sun peaking through broken clouds in a crystal clear blue sky; nothing but cow pastures, farms, fields, horses, (and the occasional deer carcass being picked apart by vultures), for about 8 miles. Even prettier when we get some morning frost.

Nothing like a nice drive in the morning before facing the daily grind of work. It's theraputic

On wet days pulling off of a windy back road, onto a rural highway(speed limit 65) revving it up and dropping the clutch, a very short time later I am up to speed, and passing the cars that were in front of me.

The favorite part of my commute is the flight of stairs I have to walk down.
Have to make sure I don't trip on any tools or laundry I may have left however.
Hey, there are some benefits to working from home.
