Well, it's not terribly pretty, but I guess I personally don't think any soft top structures are. Plus, you can always take it off, right? I assume this soft top is mainly for getting caught in the rain emergencies.
I always preferred coupes myself, but I have to admit now...being able to drive around with no top and hear the boxer engine is a LOT more fun than I thought it would be. As a side note, I'm waiting to see my first 818 in person around here...and I'm not the only one, apparently. On the freeway this morning, a confused looking guy in a van pulled up next to me and asked if my car was an 818... |

I think Ford RS200 or Lancia 037 inspired bodywork for this car could have done nicely (at least in coupe form). Or cram the mechanical bits in a Stratos replica.

I still dont see the big deal about how it looks.
This car is about amazing performance for low cost. As long as it has a body and now a make shift roof what else do you want. |

No one wants to pay $20k for something they don't think looks good.

Seriously though, "sleepers" of the "I have a beater car that I made fast" don't appeal to everyone. The sleek looks of an exotic appeal to lots of people. Few people outside of the show car circuit want a car that is all show and no go (aka: the replicar/kit car Fierrari crowd). |

This is one of 5 FFR cars to be at the show. Koni will have a CF green one there as well.

I think it's one of the new FFR exclusive DuPont paints.

$6,998 and does not include batteries? Ouch. What battery pack are they even using? Prius?
And you still need to buy all the suspension bits, trans etc..... that you would normally get if you bought a front clip or a wrecked WRX. |

It's a pretty slick system actually. They don't use a specific car battery system that I know of, but their own layout. Full build thread is here:

I thought we would see a lot more action in this thread as a result of over the winter projects getting on the road. Any builders still here on NASIOC?
