Default '07 WRX TR or '07 WRX Sedan--car stereo question

I'll have one or the other by mid-April. Money's tight so I'm thinking TR, but the sedan has a better stereo--it also costs about a grand more.

I've read the car audio thread (great information btw), but I've been through several aftermarket PITA audio installs in the past (subs, separates, amps eq's, etc.)--none has gone smoothly.

So, should I go with the TR and reconcile myself to another costly aftermarket stereo upgrade, or should I get the Sedan, buy a factory subwoofer and be done with it? Is the upgraded stereo in the sedan worth it?

I'm more than 200 miles from a WRX sedan, so your opinion would be very much appreciated.

TIA,

UncleSpud

WRX hands down. I hated the WRX system even. The first day I had it I put in a Alpine head unit.

2 Days after getting my TR, I replaced the HU w/ a Pioneer and hooked up my Zune. Now, looking for a good set of components to actually be able to use the factory spot for tweeters. Meh, I've done plenty of installs. Sometimes I wish I had gotten the WRX or not even traded my bugeye but, meh, oh well. Never know what I'll have in about 3 years.

lol, It all depends man. I love SQ and am into car audio. However if your not very picky bout sound (don really need clear highs or deep lows) then you could get away with the stock sound system in a WRX SEDAN (the TR system is just the absolute crap of crap). peronally i think you should just get a TR and spend a thousand or so and get a resonable system from like best buy or circuit city professionally put in. Even like lower end pioneer/alpine stuff will be worlds higher then the stock wrx sedan system. but for me? i like stuff that comes with the WRX sedan (seats, auto climate control, side skirts, foglights, etc) so i chose to get the WRX sedan and wait a couple months and then get my aftermarket system. I think that was the best way cause it was the best of both worlds!

I am very happy with the stock WRX stereo. Keep in mind that I used to do Crank-It-Up contests, and had a 13 speaker multi-thousand watt system on my boat. It will not compete, but sounds good at highway speeds, has a nice AUX input, and plays mp3 cds fast and well.

But the real reason is the seats. The TR seats are trash.

No offense to bofh, but I think his hearing isint what it was once. I think any version of the WRX radio sounds less the ideal. The TR seats do suck. I replaced my factory head unit with an eclipse and it sounds soo much better. I put in new speakers and a single 6" powered bazooka and it's better yet. The only thing I see good about the stock radio is your car might be safer if you park it outside your house or apartment.

I never said it was a competition show off system. I said it sounds quite good at high speed, has extra features I like, and is factory. No hacked dash, no wiring "issues" later, and no temptation from thieves. But it will never "hit hard" like a real system. The TR system is none of those things.
