Haven't heard of a cluster.

Today we did 12,9,6 reps for time
Front squats (185/135)
strict hollow dips
strict hollow deadhang pull ups

Finished in 11:13. My legs are TOAST. Insta-sore. Dems some heavy front squats for me.

I'm gonna eventually post the WOD list from our 12 hour overnight event we did this past weekend, but talking about combo movements made me think of one of the WODs we did, which we haven't come up with a nifty name for yet:

20 lb overhead med ball sit-up combined with a wall ball shot AMRAP

Basically, you sit down, do a sit up and touch med ball on the ground behind your head, then stand straight into a wall ball shot, catch the ball, repeat for AMRAP. Time cap was 3 minutes, I got 42. The key was having the stamina to roll straight back onto your feet after each sit-up. Once I got the rythm down, they weren't that hard. That was a fun one.

The default for cleans is a full squat...
Thrusters include a full squat...

Squat clean thruster sounds unnecessarily redundant.

With a thruster, the first rep can be a full clean. The other reps are front squats + OHSP. A clean thruster, the barbell goes back to the floor.

Think like a Bear Complex.

Clean thruster...exactly..no need to call it a squat clean thruster was my point.

did someone say snatch?

I will be heading back to Crossfit OffTheGrid this weekend to start my membership. I enjoyed the two free workouts that they let me get in on. Definitely felt like I pushed myself a little bit harder due to the group atmosphere. It was also the first time I've done wallballs and they felt good. I only had a few rep's that I got caught off balance.

She's rediculous. I enjoyed watching her clean ladder during the cf games.

My snatch is a mess.. I've gotten 115 up with moderate form.. Or 125 with moderate form issues. Spent some time on it the other day and at least feel my form is eeking along even if the weights aren't going anywhere.

A good oly certification/seminar will help. I've done Pendlay's and worked with a few other oly coaches and it's great to get different takes on the lifts. I was signed up this weekend for Pendlay's level 2, but it got cancelled .

Or if you ever find yourself down here and wanna throw some bumpers around...I'm always game!

Really?

I've read your statement a half dozen times and the only thing that comes to mind is you must be an insecure individual. To denigrate another's accomplishment because they don't look they way you think they should is petty and mean-spirited. And the way you wrote makes it even worse, "Impressive, but..."

Next time, just leave it at impressive and keep your negativity to yourself.

Agreed 100%. Respect and manners - people should remember what they mean.

She is AWESOME!!! such power and perfect technique!! as for the butch comment, she is a weightlifter and her physique is exactly what it should be for what she is doing.

My max snatch was 105 and I'm sure I could still use some work on the form but she seems to have it down to an art. I guess thats all a product of her OLY lifting background. I've watched her successful attempt with the 200 lbs at least a dozen times looking at her movement so that I can try to take
que's from it. I just mainly keep working on really exploding up during the initial pull phase and making sure to use a bit of a shrug to help the movement up.

I also agree with everyone saying that her being butch is close minded. I personally enjoy a lady that has a athletic, fit look to her. I don't mind a little bit of muscular bulk on a lady as long as it doesn't go to far.

Neek, I agree that I will probably hate Karen, I wasn't doing high volume of the wallballs when I did them so it definitely wasn't as brutal as it could be.

I love watching Lindsay and EA (Elizabeth Akinwale) battle it out on the heavy stuff. When Lindsay cleared the clean ladder at the games this year, I felt the only other woman to have a chance was EA and she did it too, actually got more deadlifts after her after the clean for more points and won the event.

19:00 in Lindsay comes through the last few lifts, finishing at 235#, followed immediately by EA.

That was completely badass! And not to objectify Lindsey or EA, but they are both damned hot too.

It looked to me like Lindsey had a bit of an easier time standing the weight up on the last rep or two. Either way thats still a lot of weight to stand up no matter what. It was very exciting to watch.

Agreed. I thought Lindsey moved the bar quicker and the lift looked 'cleaner.' Damned impressive by both women!

Don't forget that Lindsay came to CrossFit from an Olympic lifting (and collegiate volleyball) background. It was her olympic lifting coach that first introduced her to CrossFit actually.

No.

Different strokes for different folks.

I like muscular girls but there gets a point where it's no longer feminine or attractive.

We weren't above you posting the hot girls video the other week. Because you don't agree with my opinion doesn't mean you need to piss on it or get pissy.

I like you but don't get holier than thou. It's not a good look on anyone.

What I said doesn't change her accomplishment. A funny quip doesn't always come across on the Internet or jive with your humor. I get it.

Relax people. Breath. Abs tight. Stack the shoulders.
