Question Cobb Stage 2 08 WRX Check Engine Light

I just installed a Cobb downpipe on my 2008 WRX Sedan and got a check engine light after the second drive I took the car for. I have a Magnaflow cat-back, stock intake, Cobb downpipe, Cobb AP - flashed to OTS Stage 2 91 RWG. I took the car for a shakedown after the initial install and everything went fine. Car ran great. Took the car out to log some data, which went fine as well. Driving about 10 minutes later, I slow down to turn at a light and my CEL comes on (steady, not flashing), along with a steady Traction Control light, and flashing Cruise Control light. Mind you, the car is driving perfectly well the whole time. Not quite freaking out yet due to the quality of the drive, I pull the car over, and recycle the ignition, no dice, still had lights when I restarted the car. Drive the car back to my place, reflash the same Stage 2 91 RWG map, restart the car and the lights are gone. Take the car for a quick test drive and no lights, everything seems ok. I am worried I will see the lights again. So the codes cleared, I don't have them to show. I am going to take a look again tomorrow to make sure everything is still nice and snug. Does anyone have any ideas of what this may be. I have attached the data I logged prior to the lights appearing. I am a total noob when it comes to this stuff so any help is greatly appreciated. If the lights come on again I will be sure to take the codes and post them. Thanks in advance.

Post logs to Google docs.

Why in the world didn't you read the codes first? IMHO, that was pretty damn dumb. Then making a thread saying that your CEL came on, and you have no code? Cmon man....

Edit: OK so I don't know how to attach the .csv. Not too sure if that's possible? Someone chime in if it is. In the meantime, here is an image of the excel doc

If it happens again, use the AccessPORT's code reader by connecting it the car and then selecting the "Read Codes" option from the Troubleshooting menu. There are literally hundreds of code. There are only handful that might possibly be inferred by looking at a log, so generally that is not going to help.

Try the "Memory Snapshot" function in the troubleshooting menu (again with the AccessPORT connected to car). Use the AccessPORT Manager software to transfer it from the AccessPORT to your computer. If you can get that to me, I can check to see if the fault may still be present in the dump and I can possibly determine what the code was. When you get the file, you can post it up over at cobbforums.com (when you post, select "Go Advanced" and "Manage Attachments" to add the file).

I was able to replicate the issue and pull the code - p0244 (Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid "A" Range/Performance). After doing a bit of research, I figured I would reflash to the Stage 2 91 LWG map to see if this may help my overboosting issue.

That is the correct course of action, but you want to get a data log on the LWG map in 3rd gear at wide open throttle (if you can do so safely). Check out our data logging video below for details:

I am still planning on taking a data log for this new map, but I have a quick question regarding the target boost for this map. I'm guessing the target boost is supposed to be ~15psi +/- .8 given that is what is listed in "Stage2 91 MTv102.pdf", but I have seen a few different #'s here and there. Although, the LWG map has lowered my boost psi, I was able to hit 17.7psi in a 3rd gear pull today. On the regular wg map, I was hitting 19+psi, so the new map has definitely lowered my boost, which is good but is this # still too high? I will try to log data later tonight just a little curious as to what exactly is acceptable for target boost. I am in Colorado if that makes any difference. Thanks!

That is still too high for that map. If anything, since you are definitely at some type of altitude in Colorado, you should be under the map's sea level target (the ECU will progressively reduce boost the higher you go up in altitude). I would go ahead and get the data log and we'll take a look.

You may have to lengthen the wastegate arm to reduce the boost levels further. Or you may have a mechanical issue such as a crack or split in the wastegate lines that is causing an overboost problem.
