Smile FXT mods complete - 295HP, 346.2 torque

Okay folks here is the deal. My mods are complete and XX Tuning in CT deserves some serious kudos as this car is beyond what I ever imagined it would be.

Dyno results which will be posted later as well as some pics of the engine bay, hood scoop and exhaust. Until then the car came in at: 295HP at 5800RPM and Torque 346.2 comes in at 3800 RPM using Dynapack Pro V5.1.6_03. Outside temp was 86 degrees and humidity was at 70%.

There are three maps that are available currently (all at 93 Octane). Map number 1 running 20PSI (.15 bar) which makes the car actually scary to drive goes like this - just mash the gas and the car seems to squat down a bit and then just launches, the automatic lunges into second gear the wheels break loose a bit and then before you know it you are doing 90MPH and beyond. Spool up is almost equal to stock but more powerfull.

Map number 2 running 16PSI (.1+ bar) is almost as scary and actually seems to pull harder for a longer period of time.

Map number 6 (Valet/WIFE mode) runs .05 bar (not sure of PSI) and is much quicker than the stock ever was and safer to drive than maps one and two.

As far as problems with mods and UTEC - none so far. The car is smooth at any RPM and until you stomp on the gas the car is actually very civil to drive.

LITS OF ACTUAL MODS DONE:

VF22 Turbo Ported and Polished
WRX/STI Foam Filter in stock air box
Hyperflow TMIC
UTEC with remote switch
XX Tuning Header Kit
GSS342 Fuel Pump
Stromung Down pipe (catless)
Stromung Mid pipe with race cat
SPT Cat back exhaust with MAGNAFLOW tip (re-welded hangers to fit)
Oil Catch Can
NGK Spark Plugs
XL-7500 Synth Oil
Turbo Smart BOV (recirc 100% plumb back)
745 Injectors

Price: Not going to mention for fear of my wife divorcing me (HA HA HA)
Time: One week
Fun to drive factor: Beyond Belief
Tuner: XX TUNING http://www.xxtuning.com

I will keep you all posted and sorry for the long winded post.

Kevin

True true very true....but I still have to commute with this beast 120 Miles a day so I need to be able to drive it normally as well.

So those numbers are at the flywheel? I think that is what the dyno read out said. Awesome setup man, maybe I'll have mine up there like that some day!

Smile thank god

You must've been the FXT that blew by me this morning. I've got a stock MY04 WRX and I've never felt that slow in it.

Blue WRX from Secor getiing onto 95 from RT 9 (if that's you - sorry man I am a little agressive in the morning)

BTW - you weren't slow I had trouble passing you, darn automatic wouldn't give me the right gear.

Yep that's me - I've got to get that dam dealer crap off. Actually I think I first passed you in traffic on rt9 in New Britain - I noticed the shiny new exhaust.
No problem - I get that way myself. Although I'm usually in more of a rush to get home than get to work. My commute is New Britain to Groton. A flat 120 miles. Just rolled over 23k in a little under 8 months.

I hope you keep the sleeper look. Although with the hood scoop...

It sounded nice and melow unless you got on it.

I'm in the same boat - Plainville to New London (we should commute ----- ha ha ha) I am also up on miles 20K since October but now that the mods are done I am most likely going to drive more.

Well at least if I see you on the road now I can wave.

Kevin,
I would say that's a nice torque curve, but it looks more like a slide at a play ground. Climb up the steep ladder and slide down.

That huge jump is the tranny downshifting/him going WOT. It's a really flat dyno which is crazy.

The car does drop off after third gear somewhat but I usually run out of road or track by then. But even then I am running over .1 bar on the gauge.

The car is very quick all around and after yesterday when we road tuned it again and did 137mph without straining with three people (over 600 pounds total) in the car I think it is fast enough for now.

Of course talk to me in a year when I upgrade the turbo again to a monster Garret or run NITROUS.......then my wife will really kill me.
