Default How much do you think my repair bill is?

I can buy the door, black window trim and rear corner panel from the yard. It will need some paint. But right now I'm looking at labour and paint. There seems to be no real internal damage. So just the body work the car still drive fine just looks like ...........

I'd say like $2k+? Looks like you'll have to cut that whole section out or maybe do some metal work haha

That was about the price what I was thinking if I had the parts.

I went to an autobody shop, they gave me $6000 quote. I almost laughed at the quote in front of them when I look at it. The quote said they would bang out the door. LOL. They must have been on crack or something.

Looking at how I've been breaking down cost, I should be able to repair the car with the total expense of $4000 (.. i had no collission and ICBC is saying I'm a fault) already got a lawsuit in =) *fingers ICBC*

IMO the car can be bought for about $8000, any repair over $4000 after parts and labour I might as well say, okay, time to burn some cash and get a WRX

Yes my trunk is open. I don't want the condensation to build up and rust.

The battery is disengaged too.

hmm - i talked to my boss and he said that in order to give an accurate estimate we need to see inside. what i would do is try to get a friend to hold the door handle open and sit in the back seat and just boot it open from the inside. just kick it - you might have to kick pretty hard but it will open most of the time.

Also, will you be buying a new quarterpanel? or a used section from the yard? - used will be cheaper usually and include other parts we will need (inner fender well) etc etc

Craftsman, figures. Yeah the last shop I worked at is a few mins from them. Seen their work, not impressed at all. In fact I'd stay clear of Craftsman and Kirmac. Had and still have a friend that worked at both and the butcher jobs they pull is just unbelievable. Can't comment on Boyd's though. But I'd stay clear of those big chain Body Shops.

boyd is the same. actually most shops just butcher everything and try to push it out as fast as possible to make the most money. a good way to tell is by the management/estimator. if they seem slimy, they probably are.

if they seem honest and know how to do the job properly, they probably will.

stick with sucessful small shops. chances are if they are in business they must be doing something right....
