Broken belt tensioner bolt!
Hey guys, I am just wondering if any of you know or have had the same issue with the belt tensioner bolt on a 2002 wrx being broke. I have went to Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Auto Zone and Advance Auto and no on has or can tell me where I could find this bolt. I would take pictures but my camera is not working. I found the right thread size but cannot find one of the same length as it is about 4 1/2 inches long. I even tried looking through Subaru's parts store and still no luck. I couldn't find any similar threads on here so figured I would just ask. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg.

Are you talking about the the AC tensioner bolt?
Your local subaru dealership should have them for around 5-7 dollars. |

It's reverse thread, you won't get it at a hardware store. Get it from a dealer.
And it is for the AC belt, there is no tensioner for the PS/alternator belt. |

part # 73790AC100
in case you didn't get it from the link i provided above. Just order it from one of the many subaru parts dealers online. (plug in that part number in the search) In the meantime (in case you haven't) Just remove your A/C Belt and the tensioner bracket and you can drive it around without it. (like a sauna I might add) Fred Beans among others ($2.78)... They're in PA so ground shipping shouldn't take too long, and/or get faster shipping if you need it quick. http://www.trademotion.com/parts/ind...&siteid=216335 Last edited by z; 07-29-2012 at 07:31 PM. |

Got my phone camera working. That's the bolt, the last picture is the tensioner for the a/c I have a temporary fix on the other but not the correct bolt I just have to have it to get to work or I would never have a temp fix for it. |
