If you flatten a bearing you will not see metal in the oil, you can pull the pan and not even find a shred of metal but still have a flat bearing. If you keep driving it you will find out the hard way when a rod locks up and flys out the block. Knocking noises are never good, the simple fact that by running thicker oil it got quieter would make me pull it out and inspect it before you are stuck buying a lot of stuff you didn't need, IE Crank, Rods, Oil pump etc.

a removable tube frame front end so you can remove all the future blown engine easily?

Sick Ron, I can't wait to see what she weight when you finish with her? There is no way my car will be as light as yours

Whats the point of that? You probably lost 35-50lbs.. but turned your car into a race car. I have done that mod before and it honestly ends up being a waste of time.. especially when it comes time to install the body parts back on.

yeah my setup i posted earlier (brakeman rotors and wilwood calipers & pads) was had for under $1k.....its amazing how cheap it is when you dont buy someones pre-made kit. i was shocked.

Yeah, the company I work for buys a lot of wilwood brakes so I was able to get them at wholesale. It sucked trying to get them to make a rotor hat for 5x114, their Rep just told me: there is no way our 6 piston Wrx kit will work on a 2005 STI. I ended up just buying that kit and machining holes of 5x114 between the 5x100 holes, and the kit works awesome!

Haha.. Right on the money Ron. I am doing 16" front 15.5" rear 2 piece rotors with 6 piston mono calipers all around right now on my other car and I could not believe the difference in price when I had Marco@Magnus just source everything separately and make me brackets. Basically for the price of just 1 front kit I did all 4 corners with bigger and better hardware.

What weight are you shooting for in the WRX?

there really isnt a plan. Kenny, kelly and i are just having fun. 1 month ago there wasnt a plan to do the brakes this way....i wasnt planning on dropping the fuel tank....wasnt planning on chopping the front off....wasnt planning on a cage...wasnt planning on pulling the whole wiring harness.

Basically the only thing that was supposed to be done from the beginning was the turbo kit and some aero panels.....and it turned into this.
