@brycetron, did you see @gsrcrxsi post above? I'm thinking to try the rotated orientation after becoming familiar with readings using the standard orientation. Will update when I have more info

Installed my white racer gauge in my FXT last night. It dims when I turn on the headlights. But I have no control over the brightness. Is there any way to wire it so the gauge dims with the rest of the interior when I use the dial? I currently have it wired:
Orange(12v switched) = #3 3 IG2 Red (12v constant) = #3 Door Lock White (illumination) = #16 ILM |

i don't think there's a good clean way to make them dim with the dimmer dial.

I've seen this done two ways:
Defi Red > Fuse #3 (Door Locks) Defi Orange > Fuse #4 (IGN2) Defi White > Fuse #16 (Illum) or Defi Red > Fuse #3 (Door Locks) Defi Orange > Fuse #26 (IGN2) Defi White > Fuse #16 (Illum) Which setup are people having less problems with (double sweeps), or is it the same results? |

Using this setup I have noticed that when I put my key to start while not pushing the clutch the gauges stay on, but when I actually start the car they turn off and sweep again. When its not so hot out I will do some investigating to see which of the two fuses is loosing power during cranking. |

I was hoping someone could definitively address the issue raised in the quoted statement above? Or add to any other fitment concerns when installing this piece? Not really interested in the SMY if it get's in the way of operating switches ect. Many thanks. Nichi |

If you telescope the wheel all the way in, it will contact. I don't think most people drive like that though. I have mine all the way out.

I bought my SMY cluster a couple days ago, so I'm almost ready for the install. I got a 3/16" x 3/16" x 3/6" tee, so hopefully it fits properly. There were so many different sizes thrown around in this thread...
Anyway, I picked up some add-a-circuits, but I'm a total wiring noob. I get how the fuses work for them, but how do they attach to my wires? Is it a simple crimp and I'm good to go? I'm only doing the boost gauge to start. I really want to do the oil pressure at the same time, but $250 for a new gauge is a tough pill to swallow so I'm waiting for a used one to pop up. I'll definitely try using the crows wrench someone suggested in here earlier so I don't have to remove the alternator. |

Well I got around to installing my SMY cluster and defi boost gauge last night. It was pretty straightforward overall. Going through the fender was simple - I had already done mudflaps months ago, so I had remembered how to get the liner off.
I took it for a test drive and it works perfectly. It's awesome punching it in 2nd and watching the gauge rocket to 15 The only issue I have right now is that my defi gauge is blue. I had thought I had bought a red one, but when I went and looked back, the color wasn't mentioned . **** me sideways. Does anyone want to trade a red 52mm for my blue? Does anyone sell just the gauge itself or do I have to buy the whole thing? |

Just finished installing mine today, I ran into a few issues which were stupid of me to make. The first one was that I didn't realize that the 2014 fuse box was different than the 2011 fuse box and I tapped the wrong fuses. My last mistake was that I didn't buy extra 3 amp fuses to complete the circuit on my fuse taps.
Once I fixed all those, it works like a charm and I love it. It's mounted on the steering column. also I had to buy a brass t fitting because the t fitting that came with the gauge didn't fit the vacuum tubing that I had to splice into from the BOV. I bought a 3/8 inch brass t-fitting from home depot for about $3. |

Quick question: if I'm using a wire tap to power by AEM wideband, do I use a 3 amp fuse or a bigger one?

I used a 10 amp since that's what the manual said to tap into but I'm sure a 3 or 5 amp would be fine.

Thanks! And that's what I meant. Tap into a 10 amp and then add a 3 amp one

That's what I did. I did all add-a-fuses with 3amps and it works great

I ran a wire from the battery to a new fuse box. Then used a fuse tap of 3 amps to drive a relay that grabs power from the new fuse box.
Over kill for a couple of gauges but cleans things up when adding a lot of extra things. (5 gauges, 3 amps, driving camera, some auxiliary lighting...) |

I did this how-to over 7 years ago and came back today to find that it was dead of pictures cause Photobucket sucks and I never knew the images were gone.
Thanks to Fastman for saving them in Dropbox because I too wanted to see them again, lol. |
