Default 08 Subaru Legacy Help!

Hello All,

Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated.

My sisters has an 08 Subaru Legacy 2.5i.

Her husband changed the oil and did not tighten the drain plug. No idea how long they drove it with no oil in it.

Eventually got a "Death Rattle". Filled it with oil and the engine blew a few hundred miles later.

Found a used motor to put in. The motor has been installed by a mechanic. The car starts and runs, but she has a check engine light. She is currently calling to get the codes for me so I can research. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced an issue like this before?

Thanks

What year and model did the engine come from? Also was it a COMPLETE swap? (Ex. Long block with intake manifold)

Have you check to make sure everything is plug in properly?

Also if you can try to reset the ECU to ensure its not a false alarm.

Okay Folks,

Just got the code today. Engine is in. The car runs smooth when it's moving. Each time I come to a light or stop sign, unless I stop super easy, the engine stalls (While clutch is depressed). I can start the car again and it will idle while setting still.

Check engine light - P0082 - No Signal to Left Bank Intake Valve Control Solenoid
Mechanic tested the wire from computer to solenoid with an OHM meter and wires look ok. Not sure if replacing the solenoid would fix it or if something needs done with the ECU?

Mechanic is stating it is a problem with the Computer.

I will have to have my sister verify what year the engine came from. It was a Complete swap, intake manifold and all.

Thanks for any info guys, will post with more details.
