It also made me LOL that the shift knob was the only shiny/clean looking thing in the car. I wish you luck man, that thing will look great if you can restore it.

Don't expect a EJ swap in this thing... The drivetrain and suspension layout is completely different from any other Subaru.
Its a FWD drivetrain, with inboard front brakes and a very strange torsion rod front suspension. I'd need to keep the stock transmission with any engine I use, so It would need to use a engine that would work that transmission... Although I do kind of want an upgrade from the original 63hp this car comes with The best bet along those lines is an EA71 (1600) motor. The EA61 (1100) thats in it now has steel sleeved piston cylinders that cause lots of headgasket issues, however its possible to use the EA71 shortblock with EA63 heads and intake manifold and maybe throw a Weber 32/36 carb on there for more power... |

well.... if that subaru is like any other subaru.... u might be able to use other subaru parts with in that generation year.
