Default Rear strut brace

I didn't see a simple answer, so I'll ask.

If I were to install just a cusco rear strut brace, what would it do to my handeling on an otherwise stock suspension with 17" p7's.

?

people are quick to say that strutbars do nothing.. i did notice an improvement after installing it my car felt 'slightly' more planted as if something was pushing my rear wheels down towards the ground harder.. yes it was small but still noticable. I noticed less of a difference after installing my front strut bar.

however, when i installed my rear bar i already had springs and a rear swaybar. if i were you i would hold off on purchasing the strutbar and go for a new rear swaybar. i recommend cusco adjustable. this is a mod you will feel FOR SURE!!!!!!!!! great bang for your buck suspension mod. also look into getting some lowering springs, i have eibachs and i am very pleased with them.
let me know if you have any questions

Actually, the rear strut brace has a signifiant impact on how the car behaves. Although I would highly recommend the sway bars first. I would agree the front brace is mainly for the bling factor, as is the rear "V" brace to some extent, but the rear strut brace gives a much better feel in the turns.

And believe me, if it didn't work at all, despite the fact that we sell 'em, I'd be the first to tell you it doesn't work!

Well at least someone agrees with me. I noticed a (well, noticeable) difference when I put the rear strut bar in my wagon. Many have said that it makes a bigger difference in the wagon due to the open design. Now I'm no physics major but it does seem to make sense.
PLUS it hold my 1X10 subwoofer in place!! So that makes it worth the $$.

strut bars especially the rear does not do much on factory
setup. once you start getting lowering springs or complete
coilover kits then it will make sense to do the rear. until
then, maybe start off with lowering springs and rear swaybar.

I have both front and rear strut brace on my RS, and I have it mostly for Rally Cross, so that the chassis stays stiff. I actually cracked my front windshield when I was traversing a rough terrain. And I suspect that it was because body flex put too much stress on the window.

My rear STB made a big difference- The wagon isn't as stiff as the Sedan is in the rear. I don't get as much creaking and noise from the rear of the car. My friend's 2001 2.5rs also benefited a lot from the bar. It isn't something I would say you can measure with numbers, but the feeling of driving a car before and after says it all.

Most suspension mods will make a difference, you have to determine which makes the most difference AND DO THAT FIRST. Then out of the remaining modifications find the one that does the most, and do that second. Continue this process. No reason to get some ultra suspension if you are running crappy tires.

With this method STB is not going to be the first modification you make, rather something like 4th modification you make.

I have had the Whiteline adjustable one on for quite a while, and I knew right away when one of the nuts loosened up and backed off on a NASTY washboard road. As soon as I hit tarmac I could feel it was loose.
I bought it for bling, and like it for the more 'planted' feel it gives.
