Default Damn I'm gotta to go eat, again

OT fitness nuts and athletes major or minor, do you ever feel like damn all I do is freaken eat, drink, sleep and burn through calories like a Bush handed a budget?

For example today I ate a grapefruit for breakfast whole cleared out the wholine thing down to the rind. An hour later it's lunch time with a large chicken salad which was entree sized (a double). Then for afternoon snack I ate a 'jumbo burrito' filled with steak, beans, rice and other goodness. That too is normally an entree. Just over two hours later Mrs. Janq and I had a fate night out and I ordered a doubled appetizer of freshly shucked oysters on the half shell totalling a dozen which are an excellent source of clean protein low in fat while offering low calories for the diet concious. I cleared that by myself easy and ate the horseradish and the shrmp cocktail dip stuff that came with it on its own just because hey I was hungry and I paid for it. Next was the dish of homemade wheat bread they brought out I ate four thick secions of that each slice slathered in it's own square of butter. The server asked if I was done as I left the end but I don't like ends or for that matter care much for bread so I told her she could take that away. Next was the actual meal an 18 oz. rib eye which I asked for in rare but it came back pink and medium (grrr!!). That didn't take but 5 minutes and then I was into the Caesar salad to which I asked for a double sized serving.
We would have stayed for dessert and I was ready fro soome apple crisp pie but Mrs. janq got to worrying about the time and leaving BabyJanq at my inlaws so we booked leaving the table cleaned and clear. I drank two glasses of water, one beer (Spaten) and had a margarita behind that with salt.
That was about 4 hrs. ago and now my stomach is saying; "Feed me, again!!!"
I have a left over salmon steak that I'll eat and maybe toss some applesauce on top of it along with a couple of bananas for flavor as it'll be cold and famously we have no microwave. Of course a thermos filled with homemade Gatorade will come with.

How many of you OTters out there other than SCGT are living in this world?
Worst part is I don't even like to eat. I mean I don't have a love affair with food Paul Prudhomme style. I just eat to support stasis and because protein and complex carbs are my friends.
Well anyway I'm off to the kitchen and then when done off to walk the dog and finish up the night with several sets of pushups and a thorough tooth brushing & Listerine rinsing session.

- Janq has a ridiculous metabolism

As a college student, I cant afford to feed myself enough calories it seems like.

It's seriously disgusting, I cannot gain weight..evar. People hate me for it, but screw them. I wish I had some pudge.

Maybe instead of a tape dispenser you should be building a soup bowl.

on my lifting days I am like that. But I usually work out in the evening, so I can't stop eating after I work out. I have to stop myself and drink a lot of water to fill up my stomach.

Morning is usually a piece of fruit and a v8, or a bowl of oatmeal. Lunch is always an affair, I get something good and usually eat a lot because I burn through it all after work at the gym. Then I try to eat a bunch of proteins and vegetables afterwards. I do my best not to overeat (today's Indian buffet wasn't a good example of that, however), and try to suck down the water to keep myself from filling my stomach with food.

i own 2 ceramic bowls. i just use one and wash it after every use.

also, buidling a soup bowl wouldn't affect my GPA.

Some guy last weekend actually asked if i was on steroids...haha. I eat 6 to 8 protein meals a day...I'm cut as hell too...today was six meals of steak through the day, hit the gym, then a pound of sliced turkey meat for dinner...its been london broil all week for me though

i looked at getting buff once, but the cost of food for me would hit about $300 a month to hit my target weight. right now $100/month is 'getting spendy' for me.

So do you spend more on groceries or gas during the week?

tell us about it...over $100 a month in suppliments plus the cost of food it become rediculous. Its sort of like a hobby for me now though. Kinda like hooking up your car but instead its your body.

gas is paid by the company...a good steak is around $8 per night...during the day i'll eat a few cans of tuna or something...its not too costly, just gets annoying knowing you need to be constantly feeding your muscles

As bad as it is for us my growing pup has it worst.
He's been eating three pounds of raw meat alone (chicken & beef) daily thus far. On top of that we add a whole frozen banana, some cantalope chunks or blueberries and cup of dry kibble spread throughout the days meals. He's fed three times per day and makes like he's starving each time clearing his bowl.

BabyJanq and Mrs. Janq too also put away food like Ethiopians on vacation.
Food is our largest household expense aside from the mortgage. :|

I was like that when I was running competitively.

BTW, are you aware that tonight is the start of Yom Kippur, which is pretty much the major fasting holiday in the Jewish religion? We don't eat or drink till tomorrow after sunset. So your post ain't helpin

yep, it's all part of purifying a body. I always had a hard time when I was running because I'd be so dang hungry and wondered if there could be an exception for athletes .

I was like that when I was younger. Now, not so much. My job has completely taken over my life, so I have almost no time for exercise, etc. I used to work out about 12 to 15 hours a week and had a screaming fast metabolism. I had 4-5% body fat in high school and was told to gain a little bit of fat. I had a hard time keeping my protein intake up, etc.

But, alas, I turn 36 in two months and the old gray mare ain't what she used to be. I am not really fat, but I can never really find time to work out. I usually work about 60 hours a week in a very intense job. It kind of sucks the life out of me.

my metabolism takes BIG swings. Hard to stay ahead of it....the only solution is exercise. A ton of it. When I maintain the 8x/wk at the gym schedule, plus 3-4 three milers/week, I can eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's a day and still lose weight.

Right now, my metabolism is low and a 'normal' meal leaves me stuffed half way through. A 4oz chicken breast marinated in Mojo Criollo and then grilled, fresh steamed veggies with 6oz of couscous, brown or basmati rice is a typical dinner.

Lift, cardio, lift, cardio, lift

Yeah, my metabolism is pretty high. I have to eat 5 meals a day or I start getting pissed off.
