WTB: 2002 WRX Wagon Fuel Tank
All, asking around if anyone has a 2002 WRX Wagon Fuel Tank or anything that will enter-change into one for sale. Buddy needs a new tank due to fuel fumes leaking into the cab because of a broken fuel pump stud...someone moding/de-moding their old car broke the part and sold the car in the broken, fowl fuel smelling state...and its not under warenty.
Thanks all, JordyB

Yup your friend Andy needs a tank. Its really a stupid design for the stud to be mounted right to the tank like that. Have you tried looking around auto wreckers?

Ya, I found a 2002 Impreza tank at NorthWest, just not sure if it will fit, are all Impreza tanks the same for all body styles?

Ok I had parts look up the part numbers for a 02 Turbo Impreza WRX wagon and an 02 Turbo Impreza WRX sedan... part numbers are the same so the tank is the same design. So when looking for an 02 Impreza tank, now I don't know about there being any different between turbo or non-turbo... but any 02 Impreza tank will fit if its from one with a turbo.

I would hazard a guess that 98-01 imprezas might work, too. Even with a different part number, they should fit with little modification.

as long as that "modification" doesn't break any studs or cause any leaks. But at this point for Andy, his best interests would be to get this solved correctly and cheaply for him. This fuel leak/cel light has been a problem for him since he bought the vehicle. At least thats what he told me. (I'm the service advisor looking after this for him)

i would reccomend a new tank. i know it costs a lot but if something is wrong with the used tank, the labor to r&r it twice won't be covered by the junkyard, and it will be more than the price difference.
here's another way to go... https://www.trademotion.com/partloca...02&catalogid=1 |
