TBH it's good practice. The automotive media are nowhere near as hard to satisfy as you guys.

+1

* Will it function only as a parking brake or will it also serve as an emergency brake?
* Does it work independently of brake fluid if I have a leak?
* If I bump it accidentally while driving, will it engage or does it only work when stopped?
* If my battery is dead and brake is engaged and I need to push or tow my car, how do you disengage the brake?

Perfect article for Drive Mag! I love those technical articles. When I get my Drive in the mail, that's the first thing I look to read.

Will Subaru ever come out with a Truck? Yes the Brat and the Baja are technically trucks in that they have a bed, but what about towing?

It be great to have a mid to full size truck that could tow, haul, and just drive daily.

Maybe a beefed up H6 out of the tribeca, turbo deisel H6, or a flat 8 that can tow 6000lbs.

My ford would be traded in so fast.

Well, there was talk of the idea of making the Tribeca into a truck, similar to Honda's Ridgeline, but that was just talk amongst the NASIOC crowd, not anything from Subaru.

Have the base model be the standard 3.6, with an optional supercharged 3.6, putting out 350 hp / 400 lb/ft of torque. That would be just perfect. Then we can swap that into the Legacy...

Judging by one of the SOABlogs positions I would venture to say that he likelys get a demo car.

Double win!

Anyway, SOABlog.

Not sure if has been posted yet, but when can we expect to see pricing for the new Outback? Since I can't have my diesel it looks like the wife will be getting a 2.5i w/ lineartronic CVT (assuming it will be rated to tow)

Actually, will the CVT equipped vehicles be rated to tow? If so similar to current models or more? Also, will the towing package be available with a trans cooler?

Yes, I know you do not answer questions about future products, but it is something to consider if it has not yet been considered. (if a trans cooler is not available I'll just use the kit from the Tribeca)

They should bring back some sort of truck with an emphasis on mpg....(I say that because most people here drive trucks and have no need for them...they just want to look "cool") that would sell really well in tejas. It was a shame to see the baja go just before gas really started to climb. For what it was, I think it would have sold great.

Good question.

Granted, I'll likely get to drive it at a ride & drive, problem is that it's going to be my wifes car

So if 5 prior Subies gets you a early test drive, what does 14 Subies get you?

A large pile of bad head gaskets, several bad solenoids, some chatty clutches, questionable 2nd gears, and a fairly large dent in a savings account?

No:

Define large dent

Most of them have been EJ22 powered except for one EG33, 2 EJ25 and an EJ255/7

Hopefully the next one will be an EE20 (I think the diesel code is EE at least)

Well the headgaskets go with the EJ25s, the bad solenoids in the EG33, and the chatty clutches go with everything right?

I went to my local dealership, Clay Subaru in Norwood, MA. They fixed the problem...my spare tire wasnt tightened down. They have been an amazing dealership for the past 5 years. Do me a favor and give them a Stellar or whatever is the highest rating these days.
