This "S550Boss" guy pains me so much. I want to punch him in the throat so bad...

I've see the tentative build schedule for the S550 and it's definitely NOT going to be released into the wild in April 2014. Unveiled to the public, yes. Production rolling off the line for this guy to buy...no.

Rough guesstimate on which quarter it might start rolling out in 2014?

There is no way I will be able to hold out much longer. I know I would be happy with the current car, I just don't want the **** I should've waited feeling that will happen when the new one finally arrives.

All of these new entries have me putting off my next car purchase, I would typically be looking to replace my 2011 WRX in Aug of 2014. Now I see myself waiting for the second year production of either the WRX, Mustang GT, VW GTi, or possibly a used BMW 135is.

lordgrinz - I'd say get the 1st year production but not the first few months. You'll get better materials and miss the Job2 cost reductions (typically unseen to the consumer) that typically happen. Flipside of that is that you might have some dodgey build quality while they're ironing out production/mfg issues.

subydude - when the northern hemisphere is past 23 deg 26' in relation to the sun in the year twenty fourteen but before the winter solstice.

I know I'm shooting for the 6th or 7th month after it's out so the dealers have stopped being stupid and initial issues identified. So looks like it might be Christmas of 2014 or just after for me to get mine.

Also, **** you grumpy old man!!!

Interesting, don't the new model years always arrive at dealerships around April of the year before? Meaning the 2014s arriving at dealerships in April 2013. Why will the 2015 be any different?

As much as I'm going to like the 2015, I don't want to have another car payment since I'll be in the market for a house at that time, but I'm definitely going to trade my WRX in for a 2011-2012 GT when they come down a little more after the 2015 release.

I've noticed that different model Ford's have different release times. The Focus ST hasn't been released for 2014 yet and the Fiesta hasn't either.

Who knows though. We'll find out next year.

That's true, I should have clarified that I meant the new model years for the Mustang.

Not really sure why they'd do it like that but it might be due to the fact that we're launching the US built Fusion here @ FRAP in August. Doing two launches of two different cars at the same time would be automotive Russian roulette.

If the Mustang made sense to me I'd be driving one right now but it'd have been a PITA to get my rottweiler in the back and she'd be sad because she couldn't stick her head out the window.

My Focus ST makes me smile on a daily basis so that's fine with me. Can't wait until the Mustang is out because it's gonna be good.

This guy sounds so full of himself and it's not even a good rendering.

As soon as I saw that I knew it was F12 based and therefore the proportions were completely off. I called him out and he just said the F12 was a "reference point". Thats a bit of an understatement.
You are right though... so many idiots that dont have a clue about prototypes or have little understanding of what mustang has been historically, which is a very _flexible_ platform.
"Mah stang aint better not have no 4 cylinder and ur-peon looks...'merica".

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try and swing a '15 GT track pack.. we shall see. I work on 65-70 shelby mustangs and continuation cobras for a living and I currently do not own a ford, much less a mustang (04 wrx, 99 miata and 01 cherokee). It may be time to do something about that. I have very good feelings about this car. I have one customer who has seen it several times over the last few months and he entertains my questions with vague answers. He's asked me what I would like to see and assured me that I will be very happy.
I certainly hope they scaled and slimmed it down a bit, and it is really looking that way.

Lol christ people... devoting entirely too much energy on random fools online. Who cares about one random guy's render who claims to know more than he does. Welcome to the internet people.

Now back OT.

The s550 prototype was spotted on video for the first time. Vid from mustang6g.com

Doesnt show much of course but finally snagged testing on vid, with a current S197 GT right behind it. Now let's get that all that damn camo off for a change.

Nice brakes..

Curious why the rear is still a sliding caliper if they've gone to a IRS rear setup...

I'll give it to Ford, they've done a good job camoing it. That entire front fascia seems to have a fake facade to it.

Thank you for confirming the stupidity of the members of that forum.

That rendering by that guy is horrible. If Ford asked him to keep it "secret" I'm sure it was because it was terrible and not because it's remotely close to the real thing. Hell...they were looking at the S197 mules and commenting on how the plate opening is larger for European applications. They obviously don't look at the 2013 Mustangs that closely.

I guess I like to gawk at trainwrecks.

FaastLegacy - It'd definitely a facade.

Some guy on some forum disagrees with you and you want to "punch him in the throat" and the entire forum is filled with idiots. And you come on here and bitch about it, instead of there. Because that's what people who AREN'T idiots do. Gotcha, Mikey boy. Internet tough guys are everywhere apparently.

Now... back on OT, AGAIN.

I would not be surprised if this was a hybrid of S197 and S550 body running around. And nice to see 6 pot brembos (rear).

The truck/butt area of the car seems smaller than the current Mustang on the last shot from the rear. It looks like a smaller car from behind. I like it.

Relax, Francis.

The guy came off rather pompous and arrogant based on what I read, for what reason, I have absolutely no idea. I understand mykrr's frustration when you have a bunch of know-it-all, armchair experts contradicting you and telling you're wrong, when you do actually know a lot more than they do because of inside information.

At any rate, his claims are laughable at best. Ford contacted you asking you not to post your drawing of a car that looks like it was made by a 12 year old?

Sure, ok.

I have the sinking suspicion that a lot of the renders that have already been published in the popular media are much more on target than his is, and I don't see Ford trying to squelch them. So, why would they care about some random yahoo's drawing?

What FaastLegacy said...relax n00b.

Yes, I want to punch them in the throat because they're spouting nonsense and stupidity as fact and yes, I come here to vent because many people are my friends and I feel they're far more intelligent.

The other renderings already out there are far more accurate than this guy's. There is a thread on there now that's getting closer to what it should look like.

Yes, I am clearly not the keyboard warrior you are. I prefer to do my fighting (and dating) in real life. But hey, different strokes.

It is very difficult to tell with all that camo, but from what I've heard, it will have slightly lower, wider, and minimally shorter wheelbase. We shall see soon enough.

Thanks for the e-thugging terps. In real life, I don't care to fight unless it's absolutely necessary and I'm done dating since I'm getting married.

What you've heard is fairly correct. My boss has seen the real thing and that's basically what he said.

Thanks for your contributions.

E-thuggin? Clearly you missed the point.

Congrats on the getting married part by the way. I mean that. Hope it's not like my own --->

By all accounts, the 2015 should be a real piece of work. And it better be. We all know how important this is to FoMoCo.
