Return Follow up here. 2008 71k Stock, W/Cobb DP

To Reiterate- I removed the dash, because I knew I could make correct Repairs and add Proper Reinforcement to PREVENT THIS from Happening again!! and in less time it would take SOA and Dealer) I found failures, posted pictures above. Though I felt it was necessary to Have Subaru have Responsibility .

After a week with emails to SOA and 3days after dropping wrx off at dealer " Capitol Subaru" and I paid for Tow truck
Subaru is paying for repairs and a new clutch.

I decided to go with different further distance Dealer because of the poor service I get at my local Dealer. Who did nothing but adjust the clutch further to no more threads showing.

Anyone else get the notice in the mail?! Subaru sent me a notice extending my warranty. To four years instead of three to repair the welds, how this helps me with my 2008 wrx idk.

I had the exact same question. I got the letter in the mail yesterday. I'm going to call the dealer and see what's up.

I just got a letter, I didn't open mine. I assumed it was the brake lines again. The dealer 2 weeks ago said in the midwest states they want the entire line now coated. I'll have to check. My clutch squeaks ever since I had my new one put in.

Just got my letter today, read it three times. I never had my broken pedal assembly repaired. I haven't looked to see if the spot welds popped yet. The letter says they will do a free inspection; but without further details its hard to guess what they would do if they confirmed the problems....(now that i/we are outside of the extended warranty without paying for the repairs previously)

I'm surprised this thread went dead once the letters started going out. Anybody work with SOA or a dealer to get this fixed? What was that experience like?

I had it "good willed" two years or so before the letters went out. It was not pleasant, went back and forth with SOA and the dealer till they agreed there was a factory issue and they fixed it. I was without a car for 2 weeks.....

How did the fix hold up? Do you know if they just re-spot welded it or was it fixed properly with more support?

Default Clutch pedal

I had same issue with squeaky clutch pedal. Firewall tack welds were broken but fixed, noise still there. Clutch pedal assembly broken too, that was fixed and squeaking went away

Was it actually fixed and rewelded, or replaced with new oem part?

On my 2011 WRX, I also have the squeaky clutch pedal, so the first thing I did was check my firewall spot welds. The spot welds are all fine. While i was checking the spot welds, I had my girlfriend press my clutch in a couple times, and I noticed the squeaking is actually coming from under the TMIC, not the clutch pedal assembly. Next, I pulled off the TMIC, and the sound seems to be coming directly from the slave cylinder. Has anyone seen this before!?

The area where the piston from my slave cyl pushes against the clutch fork gets squeeky if the grease dries up. Once a year I clean both surfaces and re-grease.

Thanks AcquaCow. I can just remove the two operating cylinder bolts and leave the clutch hose connected right? Lube it up and bolt it back down.

I also have a squeaky clutch pedal on my STI hatch 2009 when letting go of the clutch. It's also like around 10% of pressing the clutch pedal (or 90% letting go)
I tried to put some WD40 on the spring and bolts that support it but no effect or what so ever. Also tried ball bearings grease and vaseline.
The sound is coming form inside the cabin.

The weather isn't any colder then a couple of weeks ago when it was even colder.

It must be the spring, the bolts and nuts or the axle (or how ever you call it in English). In a couple of weeks I'll have to take it back to the dealership to do some maintenance and I'll mention this to.
