Decent offense, great pitching. What type of league - head to head, points, etc...

If its head to head then injuries could play a big part of your scoring. Make sure you stay on top of when people are playing, who they are playing and if you have anyone injured. Do you have any league stipulations about how many total innings can be pitched per week or for the whole season, or anything else ?

It looks like 8 - 10 teams, if more, you have a stacked team.
Also, why trade Schmidt for Peavy? I would much rather have Schmidt.

yea, it's around that size. you'd hang onto schmidt? early reports on him weren't so favorable. this was actually a counter-trade offer by me. he originally wanted to do prior for schmidt.

Schmidt will do you much better then Prior will as long as they are healthy, especially Prior because of his elbow issues...

No, No, No, No.

I would trade schmidt for Peavy + an upgrade for you at another position.

I was guessing 6-8... and if so... it is likely not a great team in a league of that size... 12 team league... definitely a good team.

And no, don't trade Zambrano for a freaking tier 2 closer, or any closer for that matter. He's a work horse and not fragile like Wood and Prior.

You have decent pitching, so you could get rid of Schmidt, but I would only do it for some good high powered offensive individuals...

Man, you need to read up on some fantasy baseball strategies but I'm sure after a season you will get the idea of who is valuable, etc.

1) Steer clear of Bonds. For starters, we don't even know if/when he will come back. Second, in a 5 x 5 league, his value is FAR LESS than perceived value from a typical baseball fan. Low SB, his avg may be high BUT its against a relatively low AB so not worth as much, question. ZIPS projections now put him at (.321 avg w/ 358 AB, 100 R, 35 HR, 90 RBI, 5 SB).

2) Schmidt should still be considered one of the top tier SPs in the league. The only negative I have heard going around is about his sore groin. The last 2 seasons he has gone above 200 IP And 200 K, something Peavy has yet to do on both accounts.
