Question Please recommend dealer/service to perform TOB replacement on '15 WRX

Hello,

I'm close to the 36k miles on my 2015 WRX (I am the 2nd owner) and I have the the constant whirring/chirping noise when car is running that only stops when i depress the clutch. If this is covered under the powertrain warranty (not sure here), then i have some more time to get this fixed, if not, I am trying to determine which dealership to take the car to try and get this throw-out bearing problem fixed.

The car is reasonably modded w/a tune, so if they are going to immediately reject me then I will just take it to Mach V, but still hoping to get it covered under warranty if possible.

Last thread of note on dealers/service mentioned Stohlman Subaru in Herndon --service manager, Tom Wimmer & Browns subaru in manassas.

Default Stohlman Subaru Sterling

Near Route 28 and Waxpool off Pacific, near BMW of Sterling and the Honda dealership. They have been great, but I have a 2019 and they aim to please.

For example, during the sale, finance tried to sell a prepaid maintenance schedule. Went to the service writer who gave us the straight scoop on prices they would charge without the prepaid and mentioned they always have a coupon for something out on the web or they mail to you.

Prepaid was not a deal for us given our circumstances, based on service writer's answers.

Chas,

I went ahead and made an app't w/Tom Wimmer @ Stohlman Subaru Sterling (formerly Herndon) for this week. I'll make a point to update this post w/the results for other area members suffering from Throw-out bearing issues on their WRXs.

I’ve been happy with the service at Stohlman with Tom Wimmer. I’ve been taking my STI there for 4 years (bought it at Fairfax) and my ‘12 Outback before that (bought at Herndon). They’ve always been honest. It’s also pretty convenient since I work Reston.

I have a 60k coming up and was thinking of going to Brown’s in Manassas since we’re moving close to there in about a week.
