Default Nevermind performance, WRX vs. Evo VII - The bodies.

I tried. Admittedly, I tried with great effort to allow the Evo VII body to grow on me. I failed. Granted, I liked the previous generation WRX better than the current one, although the current body HAS grown on me.

However, with the Evo VI, you have arguably the meanest, leanest, most breathtaking rally design EVER.

What the hell on Earth is up with the VII????

Go for it.

I dare anybody to defend that evolutionary design change.

I can defend the change. You see, they wanted the regular Lancer to have more space and since the EVO is based off the Lancer, it's now a chunky pig.

I totally agree, it's an ugly car. Especially the side profile. Somebody posted a quote from Tommi Makinen a while ago. He basically said the new larger size made it hard to rotate the car well around those rally turns. I guess WRC isn't as important to Mitsubishi as it used to be.

I can say in all honesty that it is going to take exceptional control for me NOT to buy the STi.

The new EVO7 is UGLY!! It will probably grow on me after it is released, since I initially thought the WRX was ugly, and now I own one.

I was in the same boat as you for awhile, I was waiting for the EVO or the STi to come out before I bought a car. But after thinking about it, the EVO7 is ugly, and the STi might be awhile. But I think the WRX is much better looking than the EVO7, since they did screw it up sooo bad this year.

Just my opinion.....Kris

That can be fixed. The US version will only have 250-60 hp or so which is easy to make in the WRX.

I though the WRX was bad when it first came out, but like the 99+ Mustangs, they have really growen on me.

However, the EVOVII is just ugly. Even the motor couldn't make me buy this car, Sorry, but if you want a AWD Turbo car, get the scooby, looks better IMO and the motors take to the same mods practically. Plus, you'll probably save about $6,000 cuz the EVO looks like it will be $28,500+, no thank you!

Just get your scooby repainted if you want real yellow, be alot better then that piss green/yellow the scoobies got. (sorry it's my opinion, take it with a grain of salt)

I just can't see paying $30,000 for it. Especially since it's chief competitor is in the low $20,000's. Even with the release fo the STi, it still won't merrit the price.

Ohh, wait, I guess it's worth it cuz you get a cool titanium shift nobe and indiglo gauges....

STi should be in the same price range and in a better yellow. Tell Kris he's a girl. STi should be interesting with all the engine upgrades. Wonder if they're going to change the tranny?

Angry

I for one am insulted all around regarding the yellow comments! You better hope Bill doesn't read this too, or we might have to open a can of whoop a** on ya'll!

Well I agree....the factory yellow is kinda blah....maybe I should do something about that.

I am sure the EVO will be a good car, and I cannot wait to see one and maybe even drive one. Would I buy one, not now, but I am sure it will still be a fun car!

Well it looks like I have bad taste. Guess Im not invited to the next scoobie meet, considering I drive such an "ugly" car. I thought you guys were my friends. Personally I think that the current yellow is nice. You can honestly say that there are no other cars on the road with that same color.
Im excited to see how Kris's turns out, but im gonna keep mine the real Blaze Yellow.

Hope you all have a fun meet.

Bill, you do have horrible taste, but your car is not a reflection of that fact. What ever happened to that hot ass maroon Subie wagon?

Eby, they both look good. I prefer the yellow wagon. Is that the body style you're getting?

I'll sell my WRX for the STi version.

Yea, I'll be getting the old body style. Right now I'm leaning towards the wagon, but that could change by the time I actually go to purchase something this summer.

Well my vote would of course go for the yellow, but that charcoal color looks GOOD on the Impreza's!
