Trying to mainly get some help on 15 WRX mods. Hit 2k miles and debating on exhaust. Nameless catback seems to be the way to go but I cant find a dyno on it. They only seem to have plots on the EJ engine.
If the gain isnt good I may go with axleback. I just want the drone to go away but if gains are good on catback id dish out. Does this club meet? |

A catback won't really net you any HP. It's more or less to change the sound out. You may see minimal gains but nothing really noticeable. Now, a downpipe w/or w/out a catback and a tune and you will see a huge change. Still holds same for the new FA engine. The drone is usually associated with the intermediate pipe and the resonator. Doing just an axleback won't do anything for it.
As far as meets do, check out EPAWD (epawd.forumotion.com). The forum is pretty much dead but EPAWD on Facebook has plenty of activity. |

Hmm, may have to take a gander at these seats if they're still around when I get back from the field, I hear they're super comfortable. |

They are really comfy but I have the 04 seats now. I'll trade ya the seats for the Grimmspeed heatshield if you still have it!

On a side note (haven't really searched for anything yet) but does anyone have any idea what this noise is in hearing? - Did brake swap: 4/2 pots, DBA rotors, Porterfield Pads and Goodridge brake lines - Swapped in a less busted set of struts with Grp N top hats and 1/2" spacers - Did full flush of brake system (killed 2 or 3 quarts of DOT 3/4 fluid) After the full bleed I get these symptoms (thinking they are unrelated to the brakes as I see no rubbing anywhere): - "Grinding" noise - Only happens on left turns above 15mph - Only coming from the front passenger side - Did notice leaking from the "knuckle" (or whatever that little ball joint thing is called that connects the steering linkage to the hub), believe it's a yellowish grease - No evidence of rubbing visible (need to remove the wheel again to triple check, but looking from underneath and from the side there isn't any evidence) - Brake lines are clear of the wheel |

You swapped in 4/2 pots?
Did you check the dust cover/plate behind the rotor? Might have bent it a little and cause a rubbing/grinding noise. |

Yep, first thing I checked (well, second thing after the brake line), seriously figuring it's the CV joint, so I think I'll be taking out both axles after the field and taking them to this shop that does rebuilds over on Boeing that I guy I used to work with recommended. He gave me their card and said they charge ~$40-50 per axle. Thinking it's the CV because of the symptoms, mainly the only when turning thing. |

We are currently stationed in Alaska, with only a few more months here. Look forward to coming to some of the meets. I picked this up with about 20k on it and it was unmolested. I currently have a Cobb SF intake, Cobb catted down pipe, and AP. My names Cody... |

Anyone by any chance know where my old 06 STI ended up? I can't remember the name of the guy I sold it to (I think he had a shaved head)....It was a WRB STI with the black powder coated stock BBS, GT35R turbo, Cosworth built shortblock??? I know its a long shot but just curious to see how she is doing

Well I'm parting out my 2002 WRX with a 05 STi driveline to fund an 818.
Here is a link to the FS thread. Let me know if anyone local needs anything. Thanks. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2703368 |

I remember seeing your car at Cohen during one of the autoX events. Would love that V mount setup but not in the cards for me at the moment. I'm sure if you post of the EPAWD and El Paso Subaru Group Facebook pages there will be plenty of people interested in stuff as this forum doesn't get too many hits lately.

So posting here out of complete nostalgia, what's up with the other forum being as dead as it is? Or for that matter, what's up with this thread being not so lively anymore?

Not sure why, but ever since the original thread was deleted by the mods, this never really gained the momentum back.
