Anyone know the fit of an 07 USDM STI TMIC into an 05 WRX? I already have a splitter from an 05 STI that I would like it to work with as well.

There is no clear cut answer to my specific question. All they are talking about is bending brackets and hoses. I dont see anything specific to my question.

You will need to fabricate y-hose.

Lots of great information in this thread but with all the different combinations of parts it's difficult to find the answer to these questions...

I have:
MY04 WRX with stock hood scoop
MY05 STI TMIC
Already nicely fitted to the car and I want to keep the stock WRX scoop.
Already have new bellows to fit an 04/05 STI splitter

Questions:
Will a USDM 06/07 STI splitter fit under the stock MY04 WRX hood scoop?
Any fitment issues between 04/05 STI bellows, 06/07 splitter and 04/05 TMIC?

Last edited by Petrie; 07-14-2008 at 02:52 PM. Reason: clarified that I have new 04/05 STI bellows ready to be put on

That's a good question since the 04/05 WRX scoops look similar in size to the 06/07 STi scoops...

I've got a similar setup (04 WRX w/ stock scoop and STi TMIC). I'll see if my friend with an 07 STi will let me borrow his splitter for a test.....

I ran a v7 splitter under the 04/05 (WRX) scoop- it's pretty close- the v7 is a scouch low- I modified mine slightly to make a tighter fit (top portion against the scoop)- a little extra foam as well

be curious how the 06/07 one works, but for sure the v7 one can be made to work

remember the seal (rubber) portion plays a role as well- the v7 seal comes straight down- perfect if you shortened your brackets for the install, the v8 (04/05) the seal angles rearward-perfect if you left the brackets alone and instead used lengthened hoses

Will be installing V7 JDM STI TMIC this week!

I have been driving with WRX TMIC since I sold my STi TMIC to purchase V7 TMIC-- my car hasn't seen over 10 psi in boost.

06/07 scoop has a different foot-print vs 04/05, but maybe a few holes drilled into the splitter would make it fit.

Just finished installing JDM STI TMIC today. Direct bolt on and much easier to install then USDM STI TMIC.

You still need to bend A/C line slightly.

I used an 06/07 STI splitter and the holes were in the right spot. They were recessed away from the hood a little bit but that closes up as you bolt it on.

Skimmed through the whole thread, and I still have a question. I have an 05 WRX and an 04 STi TMIC, core only, no Y-pipe. Do I have to get the STi Y-pipe to even begin an STi TMIC swap into my WRX?
