And my car with new wheels and coils

Here's one of the first pictures I ever took with my old EvoX, I think i've come a long way.

Oh hahaha there was other events going on I wasn't sure. It's not straight out but I can post the original when I get home

Edit: it's so close it's not even really worth posting. The original is just a little more exposed and the one i posted has a bump in contrast

Ok, I have a question. I have a Canon T2i/550. I am going to do a car club photo shoot this evening, right around sunset, I figured this would be a great chance to try out some HDR. (Sunset in the background will cause the cars to all be shadowed, so multiple exposures seem to be the key) I have figured out 'how' to shoot HDR but am not sure what exposure I should really use. I figure 1 stop up (or more) with the main shot and +1/-1 with the other 2. Shoot in Aperture Priority. Does this sound right? Also, I have never done any post work with hdr. I have Adobe CS2. Is there a specific tool in CS2 to make it simple or....?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I figured out how to merge in CS2 and PP the HDR shots, however it won't save it in a format I recognize and there doesn't seem to be an option to save as a jpeg file.

X2 Edit: Figured it out, change it to an 8bit format. You guys are slow today, lol.

Annnnnd this is the final result. I know I need a CP, and this was just a snapshot, so the composition isn't what I want C&C on. Just looking for some input as to the settings I used for the HDR. Ap priority, F8, ISO 100, exposure -2/0/+2.

If you're going to do HDR try to use manual mode on your camera. Aperture and Shutter Speed priority are going to adjust the other setting as needed for the right exposure so adjusting them might not yield the desired effect (not to mention with aperture priory one photo might have a more shallow dof than the other and cause problems or inconsistencies when merged.) But if you use manual and adjust the shutter +2/-2 you would get a better range of lighting other than 3 pictures that the camera tried to capture the right amount of exposure in

Not the best work, it's a little noisy, but I see the potential for HDR now.

Still working my way through the edits, but I'm pretty happy with the detail on this one.

I appreciate the input, but I have to disagree with both of your statements. AP = the same aperture all the time, therefore you depth of field won't change. The whole point to HDR is to capture the shadows in full detail and what would have been blown out in full detail as well, so the shutter speed can change drastically between +2/-2 in high contrast lighting situations. This is my first go at it, so I am just going off what I learned in the field today....

I have a question for all the full frame guys. I'm beginning to do research on full frame cameras because it seems that I'm going to be heading down the portrait and people road. I shoot Canon, so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the new 6D or am I better off looking for a 5DII? The 5D3 is out of my price range at this time. Thanks for the input!

if you're doing portraits...the 5DI is probably plenty. you could get it and spend the excess money on glass.

the 5DII and 5DI cameras are amazing.

I hear that the 5DII's auto focus isn't that great. The 6D is supposed to be better in that area.

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since my last car video. Since yesterday was near 70 degrees I took advantage of the weather and got in a quick videoshoot. I finally got my buddy to take his E30 out of the garage and play around with it. Hope you enjoy, thanks!

5D is great for portraiture and fashion photography, but autofocus isn't that fast comparing to Nikon's.

How about for "event" stuff? I recently got a couple offers to do a baptism and a communion. (I guess it's that season) I was just looking into some things for better low light performance and give me "more room" to work. The full frame would also help with the portrait aspect of it as well.

You don't need full frame. it is nice and I love it but with it comes with more expensive lenses you need.

If the bodies are expensive, second hand is an option but you really should try it yourself. My friend is happy with his 5d classic. I out grew my d80 and d300 in 8 months. Waited for a d700 forever, and now I have two d700s that fit my needs.

Hope that helps. You can't go wrong with a classic 5d just some things people don't like. lcd colors are slightly off, low light isn't as good.

I find that 5D mkiii has better low-light sensitivity than mkii because of the new sensor.

At the cost of a $1000 more. The 6D, which can be had for under $2000 and got great reviews for high ISO performance. I was also thinking about possibly picking up a 7D but it looks like I'm going to be doing more people stuff than car stuff.
