With a wrx swap? That was 2 years ago though... I only deal with motorcycles meow. Quicker, faster, and handle better than any car!

The only reason the owner didn't part the car out was because its time consuming to part a car and he just didn't feel like it. I asked him several times about parting it out to no avail. This car was built and tuned properly. It passed a clean bill of health by a very rebuttable shop in the area.
Mods may or may not add value to the car but that's debatable. If the prospective buyer plans on modding the car then you can save a nice chunk of coin. The car easily has 7-10k into it in mods alone. Does that add that much to the car, maybe, maybe not. |

I personally wouldn't buy a modded car mainly because I want to mod it myself. I paid $3700.00 for my butt ugly 2002 WRX and the main reason was because it was 100% stock. A stock WRX to me is like gold. I know when I do my mods they will be done right.
There is nothing worst then looking under the hood of a car and finding cut wires and missing hoses. Besides who wants to drive someone else's modded car. The whole point of modding a car is to make it yours. Not putting the car down just expressing my thoughts on it. Good luck with your search or purchase. |

Around where I live it would be considered a good deal because people are asking $10-13k for their 140k+ mile rebuilt titled bugeyes.

Exactly. But the guy backed out because his gf said its too much for a 10 year old car. But supra's sell for $20K and they stopped making those in 98 And i wouldn't hesitate spending over $15K on a well built 1990 300z just me though Plus i make my own choices on cars. I don't usually ask a forum |

You need patience to get a combination of a good car, low miles and a decent, fair deal. I started looking almost a year ago. Passed on a very nice 02 stage 2 with uberexpensive wheels, 120k miles and receipts for everything. Asking $5500. It eventually sold for $4500. Agreed on an 07 with 88k miles, stage 2 limited with an STi 6 speed for $14k. It's getting inspected by one of the best Subaru tuning shops in the area before we buy....and they've seen the car before. There are good cars out there and there are dreamers attempting to sell their car for way more than they're worth.
If you found what you want at the price you were happy with, and it's really and truly being inspected by someone who knows what they're doing (and you're paying for that), then you win. |

Look at the clown talking, are you the owner of the said wrx ?
Doesn't matter how clean and low mileage the car is. It is more than 10 years old with stock ej205 and wrx 5 speed. You will regret when that engine spins a rod bearing or break 3 rd gear in the transmission. |

actually im the owner of said wrx. it has a built trans so there is no need to worry about it. the car was just one of the best subaru shops in the the tri state area and the car passed an inspection the the compression test. so if you have anything else to say you can suck a dick, cause the car is built right...

Ehh............ Buying a modded car kinda takes away most of the adventure that is doing it yourself. I'd get it tested to make sure it is reliable. I also wouldn't pay $12Grand for it.
