those things will melt your wires in no time....well at least most of the time they will.....i've seen those things go through WRX harnesses in 2 weeks.....

as for me:

used to have Nokya's in the heads...no good, high wattage, useless spread and color.....the ones i had and really liked were the Polarg VIP's in Plasma Purple.....great output, and functionality AND the looked good from a distance...kinad like 7000K HID's

in the fogs i had Hella Yellowstars....as with the Polargs these are also a great bulb.....although i had one blow and havent tried to replace it yet, so as of right now ....Stock H3

I also have a set of hella 500's...those have some 100W street glows....pretty decent bulb...they put out enough light

Philips all the way, VisionPlus is the preferred brand. They own. If you have 9007 (stock WRX housings), Philips HiVisibility is the choice. (Yes, they're better than SilverStars.)

i use a couple no name brands for my fogs and corners but i spend bank on the heads, sylvania silver stars. they're not blue at all and don't look very bright when u look at them from the side but when they hit things and you see them straight on it hurts. i love them.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone uses the Silverstars. They are like $9 more (each) than the Cool-blues and they look almost the same as the Cool-blue's.

I put in the Philips HiVisibility 9007 bulbs, it's a subtle difference, imo. I only changed out one bulb, and then that night took a bunch of pictures -

You can sort of tell, the Hi-Vis bulb is less yellowish, and casts a cleaner light - the difference under high beams is even more noticable. $15 at Kmart.

there was a 15 or 20$ rebate on them; making them reasonably priced...

let see in the WRX i have CIC 55/100 9007 $6 for the pair
in the GC8 i have hella 55/100 h4 $5/pair

as a nice bonus the 55 won't melt the wireing like almost all the others do

the silverstars are junk i had a set for a whole week befor both of them burned out .. somthing about not being designed for a car with a car off/lights off system

Anyone used the Sylvania XtraVision?? At my local auto zone, the cool blues were $14.99, a whopping $5.00 less than the Silverstars.
