my car is Impreza Sedan 2009 1,5R M/T
there is another model called 1,5Rx and it called in some countries 1,5Rk
this model is M/T but with " Hill start assist "
this option assist the M/T Impreza when climbing a hill .. when you push the Brake pedal for 1 sec then shift to 1st gear and move .. the car will not go backward on a hill and will stay without moving till 2 sec .. ( this help the Impreza to move smoothly on climbing a hill , especially when loading heavy bags .. )
-
can this " Hill start assist " installed on my 09 Impreza M/T ?!?! or it's a stock option that can't be installed after market or at dealer?!?!?

I also thought it was standard option on the newer vehicles.

I had a hill holder clutch on my 95 Legacy it worked pretty well on hills but the handbrake does the same thing. It looks like this system works a bit differently but has the same purpose.

it's standard on 1,5Rx , 2.0Rx and 2,5GT Manual models ...
-
in my country only import the 1,5R models .. dammit it the ***Rx only 1000 $ more than the ***R models ..
-
i read in many forums that owners of Impreza equipped with that assist hate it and want turn it off ...
-
i will ask the s.center as soon as possible and tell you later ...

i used to wish i had it, now it wouldn't make a difference, i don't roll back anymore, just practice on a hill, its really not that hard you just need to know where the clutch begins to grab

on a hill,
1. cover the brake with left foot
2. slowly apply pressure to the throttle while easing off with your left foot when it's your turn to go

Maybe for an auto car, but where's the clutch at when you're doing this?

oops sorry went right over my head. if so, i would advise sticking with the tried and true handbrake method then.
