Default Not firing all cyl?

I posted this in the Hydra forums too but it initially started as something else, and drifted to this, I don't think theres too many fish over there to help so i'll post here as well.

My 93 Impreza with an EJ20G has been acting up lately. Out of nowhere the other day, not even while driving, cyl 2&4 stopped sparking. I got it home and tore it apart, followed wires, checked voltage and continuity, ended up fixing that issue, or so I thought.

I am now getting spark in cylinders 1,2,& 3, not 4. If I unplug any coil pack BUT cyl 4, the car will die, cyl 4 does nothing when unplugged, yet, the wiring gets signal all the way from the coil to the ecu (checked via multimeter), the coil is getting 12v, and has a good ground.

I tried the next thing I could think of, compression test. Cyl 1,2, & 4 are all at 150psi. Cyl 2 is at 140psi. I was thinking it would be cyl 4 with low compression, but its not. Can anyone help me pleeeease?

So your coil is getting a signal but is not firing ? thus your coil is dead.. if your still running those junk cracked EJ20G coils don't look any further.

Well if your coil is getting it's signal to fire but is not firing the only thing it can be is the coil itself. Swap coils to confirm.

im trying to figure out a way to get the coil to spark outside of the engine, so i can verify for sure that its not getting spark, any idea? I've tried 3 different coil packs with no change in that cyl.

The coil pack from #4 works on #3, i tried the coil pack from #3 on #4 with no success, tried all 4 of the old GD coil packs I just replaced with no success. It almost seems to run normal, yet if I unplug any coil pack the car will die down, except #4, where nothing happens.
