Default Calling All JDM STi Swaps...

I'm trying to get a roll call going. JDM 2.0 STi swaps only please... Post up with a picture of your car and a brief blurb about your swap. My friend raised a good question regarding the rarity of these cars, and I'd like to try to tally up the NASIOC'ers with these swaps!

You wont get much love for the GDB swaps in this forum, but I see you have it covered in the 2.0 forum

I think it's opposite. The oldschool swaps are pretty rare on these forums. Most people are shying away from them because aftermarket support and tuning aren't there for it nearly as much. Heck, even support and knowledge from other members is lacking.

You also have to remember all the easily obtainable USDM WRX engines that are out as well as how many people are putting GD STi engines into their GD's, by only adding 8 wires for AVCS. Look at the "Pre-2002 Factory Turbo Forum". There's actually tumbleweeds in there right now. I'd wager the opposite of your wager.

haha. id say that on the genral assupmtion that;

conversion forum is mostly gc8 - and my statement therefore only applies to GC8.
that ej205 is not an engine, so there fore dosnt count :P
and it would be the numbers of

ej20G/ej20k/nonavcs ej207 vs avcs ej207 cars only.

hahah.

THAT is my premise, which makes decent sense in light of the context of this thread.

I don't think mine officially counts at this point since the longblock has been stripped for a rebuild and is on my workbench. But I do think I can say that I own the oldest STI engine on the board. Napphappy might step in and have a lower serial number than mine, but I hope not. My engine is number 749 that ever went through the hands of the master mechanics at Subaru Technica. None of this production line STI stuff for me. OG till I die...

I'll post the vin plate tomorrow, I am keeping it silverthron. I just had those wheels refinished, I guess they were the stock wheels, but I am keeping the gold anyway.
