I just moved up a few months ago from Florida and I had my 04 wrx tuned with Jester Tuning at Titan Motorsports and he did an amazing job. But now that I'm in upstate NY and the weather is starting to be pretty cool (40-50*f)... So I went tonight for a fun spirited run and my car is running ridiculously rich at 10.0 flat (reading afr with my aem uego wideband) and when it reaches 5500rpm it bogs really bad and I let off the gas... I'm only running 18psi, bigger fmic, turboxs bov, intake, and 3" tbe

I'm in upstate Patterson NY
Thanks in advance

Why was it that when I was in Florida and her tuned she was running awesome and now that I moved up to NY the car is super rich and bogging past 5500rpm... What's wrong? What's causing this?
And no I ain't new to turbo cars as I also have a turbo sentra spec v that I built...

No smart ass here. Air becomes thicker (dense) the cooler the air becomes. Your car was tuned in a relative humanity density air point. ( Flordia very high humanity and probably high 80 90 degrees) Now the colder air is thicker meaning there is a lot I say a lot more air being brought into the engine. The ecu thinks the motor is at higher rpms due to more air flow. Turn your boost up to compensate the richness, but don't do this because this = excessive boost pressures. It would help correct you air fuels ratio but will mess with other shiz it.

Holy crap that's so incredibly wrong I don't even know where to begin...

No offense, but you should probably stick to the Newbie forum and stay out of Technical for a while.

oh the relative humanity of it...

I wonder what your temperature compensation table looks like?

Also, has anything else changed with the car? 10/1 ratio doesn't seem like it should cause the car to bog badly, something else may be up. I would check everything and make sure you don't have a boost leak after the turbo. I am no pro but if your using the MAF and you loose air after it has been metered it could theoretically cause a rich condition.

That being said I have blown up two STI's so my name is mud.

Talking to specblitzed

Your issue sounds like a boost leak to me.

Did you fix the leak? Do you have an exhaust leak? Have you taken any logs?

Similar thing happened when my old uppipe cracked in half, screwed up fueling all over the place.

back to the first part, did you fix the boost leak? Logs are pointless, you have a leak, fix it!

a boost leak will do that, also another thing could be that your drawing more air at colder temps and hitting untuned cells of your maf.

You could also have a failing sensor for the wideband. So many things could be happening here. Fix the leak and report back, good chance that's the problem.
