Talking I bought a pulley set

Like the title of the topic says, I bought a set of aluminum pulleys,
and the crank pulley is underdrive. The UD crank pulley weighs
1.2lbs, and both the power-steering and alternator pulleys are said to be .8lbs lighter. How much hp should I expect to gain from this? And wich CAI should I buy? The PRM(cobb) or the Injen?

HP gains? ~4hp...
Are the UD pulleys the same diameter as the stock?
Have fun with the install

Man, that alternator pulley was a doozie. After damaging the alternator housing with "the screwdriver trick," I gave up and took it to the dealer to finish job.
Be sure to reset the ECU, that helps.

RHdude, an Under-drive pulley is smaller in diameter than an OEM or stock pulley. And I think you're a bit shy as far power improvements go, you say ~4hp, I'm thinkin' more like 10-12, but we'll see.
And to Dr.Ken, thanks for the tip

You don’t actually gain any horsepower but rather you’re freeing up the energy that was used to move the additional mass of the pulley in a lightened pulley. 10-12 HP seems a little excessive doesn’t it? I would go for the Cobb intake but I may take a while to get it.

no way in hell you'd gain 10-12hp... UD claims 4hp.
I have heard you don't want a smaller pulley, but rather a stock size, but lighter. I believe the GFB's are like that..

As for intake, Cobb makes a very very good intake, but they are expensive and hard to get your hands on one. Ganzflow's style is very similar, cheaper, and usually easier to get. It's all up to you

Ok, thanks you guys for lighting my candle
And I'm a positive guy, so let's deduct your 4hp from my 12, and we end up with ~8hp I'm the kind of guy who sees an ½full glass, not an ½empty one, happy new year to all of ya

Get a FAT or SPO/AVO intake, they add like 80-100hp

80-100hp, i hope that you are just bein sarcastic. as far as the pully goes, i went with the unorthodox racing pully and it is smaller and i hate it. first of all i noticed nothin as for as hp goes, second, it takes power from the accessories to give you more power, so all i notice is everytime im at a light, all my lights dim until i give it gas. not good if your also into a big sterio

I always see the glass as too big.... so let say it adds zero HP, but make it easier for the engine to do its job.

Ok ok, so instead of writing that it "ads" hp to the engine, I should've said that it "frees" hp from the engine, since your 165 little ponies have to work less hard to do the same job, is that ok now? Can I go home now?

the GFB pulleys are all smaller. Alt, pwr steering, and crank. It says it's so it doesn't underdrive, but i experiance light dimming below 1k rpm. I don't mind at all though. I love them.

DJ, have you witnessed any change regarding re-acceleration???
I mean, if you lift up the the throttle and then pin it back, is there a slight improvement?

Actually, the Crank and Alt pullies are smaller sized but matched to keep the alt from underdriving. The Power Steering is stock sized so it is the only thing that is underdriven. They are also cheaper than the N1 pullies or the UD ones.

Are you sure? J/k

You must have a set I haven't seen before. The GFB's I've seen had the crank smaller with the Alt to match, but the PS was stock size so that was the only thing being underdriven.
