Default Maximum Tire Size for 16'' Rims

Ok,

I have the stock 17'' rims with 245/45R17 tires which fits perfectly.

I plan to do some Auto-X, therefore I am getting 16" rims.

Now, I need new 16'' TIRES.
What sizes do you recommend, cause I will need the maximum
side wall?

Note: I was thinking of getting 225/55R16.

I could take a PIC of my 245/45R17 tires and post it if you want,
however how is that going to Help me figure out which
16" Tires to order!

I could send the mesurements of the tire on the car like:
Height and width (that would be more accurate than a PIC)

245/45-17 ... I want to see that ... and it is not a "stock size"

and get 225/50-16 sized tires for the OE wheels

Hey, what's going on LUKE?
It was about time!

245/45-17 is not a Stock Size
215/45-17 is the Stock Brigestone Potenza Tire that came with it.

Now, I am intersted in the 16'' Mille Miglia HT3...
So which Tire size do you recommend for maximun side wall.

Luke,

please go to

www.rav4world.com
Click on: LINKS
then click on: Rav4 Tire fit list
then click on: Tire Size Calculator

Now:
When I put 245/45-17 vs 225/55-16
they are almost Equal in side wall.

Anyhow, How accurate is this calculator?

it is reasonably acurrate but, my size recommendations are based on a WRX not a RAV 4 ..... what vehicle are we discussing ????

if it's a WRX I still want to see a picture with a 245/45-17 on it

is it safe to put 225's on stock rim? i just wanted to make sure it's not too wide for the stock width.

btw, i checked another site for the proper tire size. if you want the correct speedo reading 225/50-16, 225/45-17 or 245/40-17 would be the best match.

225's work just fine on stock rims.

I run 225/50/16's on my stock rims. Hoosier R3S03's..
